The summit of Mt. Nyoho 女峰山 (2,483 m) affords commanding 360-degree views including Mt. Nantai, Mt. Oku-Shirane and even the twin peaks of Mt. Tsukuba some 80 km away. It’s always lovely to have an unencumbered view from a summit especially early in themorning.
5 SITES IN TOKYO TO EXPLORE WWII RUINS Remnants from the Second World War in Tokyo. Preserved ruins from the Second World War in Japan are few with the notable exceptions being the Hiroshima A-bomb Dome Genbaku Domu, the Nagasaki Urakami Cathedral wall remnant and the one-legged torii of Sanno Shrine also in Nagasaki. Tokyo itself was effectively razed and rebuilt in the aftermath of WWII, so it comes as little surprise BACKPACKING AND CAMPING ON THE IZU ISLANDS Niijima – Habushiura Campground. 10 hrs 35 mins from Takeshiba Pier to Niijima 2nd Class Cabin 5820 yen. . Along with plaster renditions of Greek statues and ornate water fountains it stood proudly as a showcase of the economic boom taking place on the mainland.
