The redevelopment of Olympia, Granby and Whaley Mills neighborhoods had been a community focus since 1999 and has been brought to life through the re-visioning and support of the River Alliance. Working with neighborhood leaders, the Alliance hosted a series of “dream catching” sessions where residents were asked CONGAREE RIVER BLUEWAY Blue Trails, also known as water trails, are the river equivalent to hiking trails. They are corridors developed to facilitate recreation in and along rivers and other water bodies. Blue Trails are found in urban settings as well as in remote environments. Providing an Outdoor Adventure Since early 2004, visitors from across the Southeast have been using a tear-resistant and waterproof topographic map and guide for safely enjoying the natural wonders of the 23-mile stretch of easy flowing water of the Lower Broad River Blueway.
