A TEST OF NUDOL DIRECT-ASCENT ASAT SYSTEM A few days ago Russia issued a NOTAM notice that suggested that it will conduct a test of the Nudol ASAT system on April 15, 2020. And indeed it did. The missile was launched from the Plesetsk test site. U.S. Space Command issued a statement in which is said that it "is aware and tracking Russia's direct-ascent anti-satellite (DA-ASAT) missile test April 15." DETAILS OF THE RDS-1 DEVICE The test of the bomb, known as RDS-1, was conducted some days later, on 29 August 1949, at the Semipalatinsk test site. Among other things, the copy that was published there at some point contained previously unpublished data on the details of the first Soviet atomic device. Here is the translation of the relevant parts: c) expected probability LAUNCH OF AN EXPERIMENTAL IMAGING SATELLITE, COSMOS-2525 The spacecraft was deployed on an almost circular orbit with altitude of about 320 km and inclination of 96.64 degrees. After deployment the satellite received an official designation Cosmos-2525. Cosmos-2525 has been described as an experimental imaging satellite EMKA, developed at the VNIIEM corporation. It received internationaldesignation
