HOW TO FIX FURNITURE PAINTING MISTAKES Today’s post is all about How to Fix Furniture Painting Mistakes because let’s face it, we ALL make them!I can’t tell you how many times I’ve worked on a piece that’s coming along great – then I decide to ‘get-my-artsy-on’ and try a new color or technique and OMGOSHHH, now it looks h.o.r.r.i.b.l.e. HIGHLIGHTING YOUR FURNITURE DETAILS I love furniture that has this engraved or recessed detailing. And if done right, engraved furniture designs can really accentuated a restyled piece. You can opt to paint over these details with a light hand and dry brush so NO paint gets into the detailing, or what I think is a MUCH easier way is paint as you normally would - and don't worrying if your paint gets into the grooves.DEODORIZE WOOD
To get all the texture to show, this Glaze was applied over top the paint and then a few areas were darkened with black wax. After the glaze and wax were on, another sanding to bring out all this gorgeous texture! For the finishing touch, a little of this Gold Gilding Waxwas used to

USING A ROLLER WITH CHALK PAINT ~ DOES IT WORK? Good morning, I intend to give the roller a try. My concern is the durability of the table top. I have used Annie Sloan with success on pieces that were not subjected to much use but now I plan to paint a large cocktail table. Learn how to update your old furniture into something remarkable and gorgeous! HOW TO PAINT METAL FURNITURE Wipe all the particles off and clean well. Give it a coat of good adhesive rust blocking primer. Sand primer smooth after 1 or 2 coats. Spray or brush-on the paint in the color of your choice. It may require more than one coat. Spray or brush on an appropriate topcoat depending on if it is outdoor or indoor metal furniture. HOW TO REPAINT FURNITURE STEP 1 – REMOVE HARDWARE AND CLEAN. This piece was sitting in my inventory so all it needed was a wipe down with warm water. However, if when I’m working with a piece that’s filthy, I remove the hardware and then clean with TSP, Krud Kutter or any other heavy-duty cleaner. This gets off all the grime, oil and dirt. PRICING YOUR PAINTED FURNITURE If you paint a piece of furniture and placed it in a NYC Boutique, it may quickly sell for $1200. If you shipped that same piece of furniture to a Flea Market in a quiet rural town, it may take 2 months to sell for $200. Take your location, venue and target market into consideration when pricing your furniture. Passion + Purpose = Profit. HOW TO REMOVE FURNITURE TRANSFERS 3. STEAM. Using a steam iron (with a tea towel or cloth placed over the transfer) or this steamer is another great way to loosen a furniture transfer off your project. 4. ORIGINAL GOO GONE. When working with a painted piece, the Original Goo Gone will help remove afurniture transfer.

ReStore Entry Hall Table Makeover. March 16, 2021 by Denise - 54 Comments. AN $80 RESTORE ENTRY HALL TABLE GETS A NEW PAINT FINISH! | VIDEO Hi, sweet creative friends! Before I get into this ReStore Entry Hall Table Makeover, a big thanks toHOW TO PAINT WICKER
STEP 2 – DRY BRUSH PUTTY. Once the Chocolate was dry, I dry brushed this Putty using a cheap chip brush. A scraggly old cheap chip brush is perfectly fine because it creates texture over the woven wicker. To dry brush, I use VERY little paint on the tips of the brush then gently run the brush in one direction of the wicker. HOW-TO-TIPS: PAINTING DRAWER HARDWARE 3. Give the hardware a light sanding with 220 grit sandpaper and then wipe down well to remove all the dust. Sanding will give the wood/metal handles a little “tooth” so the primer and paint will adhere nicely. 4. Set up your painting area outdoors or in a well ventilated space. 5.DIY MAILBOX IDEAS

SANDED THROUGH VENEER... REALLY?...GRRRRR! I was working on this night-table and I wanted to stain the top and paint the bottom. Apparently Walt and I (aka DeWalt) were a little too zealous and we sanded through the veneer exposing the MDF at the edgeof the table.
