Six mountains. Four patches. There’s an adventurous spirit in all of us. In Saranac Lake, you can answer that call by becoming a Saranac Lake 6er. Become an official “Saranac Lake 6er” by climbing all six mountains on or after May 25, 2013, and completing the online registration form. From downtown Saranac Lake, Lake Flower is visible! Follow Main Street to River Street. Turn onto River Street - Lake Flower is the body of water that runs parallel to the road. LAKE KUSHAQUA, A BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO REST To access the launch site from Saranac Lake, take Route 86 to Gabriels. In Gabriels, take the first right after the Packbasket Diner onto Rainbow Lake Road. Once in Onchiota, take Kushaqua Mud Pond Road, which is located on the left side of the 7 Gables Antique Store, a very unique, must-stop store. Gretchen and Patti heading out.THE WILD CENTER

It’s all part of an outdoor and indoor experience on 81-acres that’s earned praise from around the world for how it lets visitors of all ages get closer to the natural world. The Wild Center has a BLOOMINGDALE BOG TRAIL The Bloomingdale Bog Trail is a scenic, end-to-end path that follows an old railroad corridor that connects Saranac Lake to Bloomingdale. The entire route is wide, level, and mostly straight, making it perfect for a casual stroll or bike ride. The trail from theBloomingdale
ADIRONDACK PLEIN AIR FESTIVAL Please Note: the 2020 Adirondack Plein Air Festival is going to be modified to avoid gatherings of people in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines. Participating artists will paint on their own at any location within the Adirondack Park between July 30 and August 19. The event will be limited to regional artists who will not have to makeovernight trips.
BIGFOOT IN THE ADIRONDACKS According to legend, Bigfoot is a giant anthropoid ape-like creature, very hairy, and very smelly. This could explain the report of a highly pungent, neglected-human smell in a wilderness area near Moody Pond. In fact, in Florida, Bigfoot is known as a skunk ape. Located in the center of downtown Saranac Lake, the paddle offers a great view of the BLOOMINGDALE BOG TRAIL The Bloomingdale Bog Trail is a scenic, end-to-end path that follows an old railroad corridor that connects Saranac Lake to Bloomingdale.
