4. 5. Meet Corey. Do-it-yourself & Design Blogger. Hi everyone, my name is Corey, and I have a problem. I can’t leave well enough alone. The best therapy usually involves a variety of power tools. So, in the few “spare” moments I am not entertaining my two beautiful, rambunctious, boys, I can typically be found hunched over a sewing DIY PULL OUT DRAWER STORAGE For a 1/2″ piece of plywood cut 10 1/2″ x 16″. After cutting the 1/2″ plywood to required dimension drill pocket holes (on the bottom side of the board) around the perimeter using a Kreg Pocket Hole jig. Using 1″ pocket hole screws secure the bottom panel (#5) to the drawer sides/ front/back. CREATE A BUILT-IN OFFICE USING CABINETS Once supports are installed place the desktop on top of the supports. Once certain of a proper fit apply an adhesive where the bottom of the desk board and the side supports meet. Then using a 1 1/4″ screw attach the 1×3 back desk support to either the wall or in my case the ship lap boards. Finishing Touches. WORKSHOP ASSEMBLY TABLE Ok, so after 3 years of being frustrated with my shop set up, I finally decided to do something about it ! One thing that I really wanted to have an assembly table. I was always sitting on the garage floor trying to assemble furniture. My joints were always wonky, andthe fact that it
COVERING WALLPAPER WITH FAUX SHIPLAP Covering Wallpaper with Faux Shiplap – Fill in the holes. So grab a putty knife and start filling any discrepancies. Learn from my mistakes and only use a little bit of filler and scrape the applied area with your putty knife. It will remove the excess filler, and require minimal sanding! Step 7. Sand. "Well, when are you going to change your fan? It doesn't match!" HA. I love that lady. She was right, it didn't, but I didn't think it was absolutely horrendous. HOW TO: FAUX BRICK WALL It all started with this very large blank wall in our dining room/kitchen. My first instinct was shiplap, but I wanted to try something new! Ever since I made my sons "Fire Station" I have wanted to use the brick paneling elsewhere. This was my chance a faux brick wall and here is how we did it! LAZY SUSAN CHARCUTERIE BOARD In order to create the pegs I used a 1/4″ dowel rod and cut (x4) 3/4″ pieces. Place the second Lazy Susan Turntable centered on the top of the large wood round. Use the turntable as a template to mark the placement of the LARGER holes. Using a 1/4″ drill bit, drill 1/2″ deep holes as straight as possible. Now it’s time to placethe pegs.

Faux Shiplap Walls – Fast & Easy Install. Within 25 minutes the front room looked a little like this. Here is what I did. I started by sanding the edges of the planks. I applied these planks to the wall using an 16 gauge nailer. Worked like a charm. Faux Shiplap Walls – Spacing for Outlets.PVC BED CANOPY

IKEA CUBBIES INTO A RUSTIC APOTHECARY Sander. 1.) Build Up the Base-. I began turning my Ikea cubbies into a rustic apothecary by adding 2×4’s as a base. This will give it an additional 1.5″ in the overall height, and give the base some visual weight. 2 .) Trim Out Base –.PVC PIPE SHELF
Metallic Spray Paint. Stain. 2×10 wood planks (Amount varies by project size) 3/4″ PVC pipe (Amount varies by project size) “T” PVC Joints (Amount varies by project size) I started by using sand paper and scuffed up all the PVC pipe. Once they were roughed up, I SIMPSON STRONG-TIE WALL MOUNTED SHELVES In the event you truly are really lost, repeat the steps for the first two shelves. Bless your heart. Step 5. Make it PRETTY! The last thing needed is the remaining Simpson Strong-tie angles. Using a small 3/4″ button screw I attached the angles to the end of all of the 2″x 8″ boards/shelves. Begin by prepping your wood, and making all your cuts. ( If you are a beginner, I might suggest making your cuts as you go, making sure all pieces fit correctly.) Second, sand and stain/paint all your 1×2’s and 1×4’s. While they are drying you can construct your base out of 2×3’s. LAUNDRY ROOM PEDESTAL / PLATFORM Add Platform: Next it was time for the platform. I used a nice 3/4″ plywood for my platform. I measured the dimensions of my already built platform and transferred those dimensions to my plywood, and then cut using a table saw. To speed up the assembly process, cut all boards, sand and if desired stain all boards. Once dry, you can begin the assembly process. When assembling , I would strongly suggest pre-drilling all joints for screws, to avoid the wood splitting.FAUX SHIPLAP WALLS
Faux Shiplap Walls – Fast & Easy Install. Within 25 minutes the front room looked a little like this. Here is what I did. I started by sanding the edges of the planks. I applied these planks to the wall using an 16 gauge nailer. Worked like a charm. Faux Shiplap Walls – Spacing for Outlets. FAUX METAL VINTAGE SIGN Using a finish nailer I fastened the 1.5″ wide slats of wood and tacked it to the cutout. I just liked that it gave it dimension and created the look of a vintage metal sign. Once everything was secured I took a rag with a little bit of stain and added it to the creases to give it more depth. Overall. HOW TO: R.V. CURTAINS Once securely pinned, flip front side facing up and stitch approximately 2 3/4″ inches from the edge of the fabric. (This will be stitching the fold shut.) R.V. Curtains: Bottom Hem (Rod Pocket) Next I hemmed the bottom edge while also creating a pocket that would house the dowel rod. CRIB MATTRESS PORCH SWING 1 @ 26.5″ x 50.5″. Begin by prepping your wood, and making all your cuts. ( If you are a beginner, I might suggest making your cuts as you go, making sure all pieces fit correctly.) Second, sand and stain/paint all your 1×2’s and 1×4’s. While they are drying you can construct your base out of 2×3’s. LAUNDRY ROOM PEDESTAL / PLATFORM Add Platform: Next it was time for the platform. I used a nice 3/4″ plywood for my platform. I measured the dimensions of my already built platform and transferred those dimensions to my plywood, and then cut using a table saw. I also wanted mine to have a raised edge, so I cut out 1.5″ wide strips that would go around the perimeter of my signs.
