Non Technical Forum. Open Automotive Discussion that does not fit in any other forum. (NO Classified Advertisements.) . SYMPTOMS OF A BENT CRANKSHAFT Registered User. Nov 13, 2008. #8. 1) AOD cars are harder on balancers than 5spd cars typically because the AOD tends to load the motor heavily in the 1100-1800rpm range and there really isn't much you can do about it due to the shift pattern of the AOD. ANYONE USE STOP LEAK FOR PINION SEAL ? SCCoA Admin. May 22, 2017. #1. Found a small leak on my differential pinion and don't really have time to change seal before Power Tour. Options are do nothing and hope it holds up for about 1300 miles, or drain some of the gear lube and add some stop leak. Just wondering if anyone here has ever tried stop leak in the diff and if it worked. HIGH STALL TORQUE CONVERTER VS LOW STALL. Most 4x4 trucks run best with low stall converters. Traction is a major factor in considering stall. The higher the stall of the converter the less traction you will feel like you have. If you're already fighting traction issues fix that before getting a higherstall converter.
WHAT GRIT SANDPAPER TO USE ON BLOCK AND HEAD? It would get dirty and useless really quick, but then after a while, I would rub the same point on the block with the paper, make about zero change, and the grid on the paper would just get ruined fast. So, I'm pretty sure that 400 grit is relatively safe to use on the block, but I was interested in what other people thought worked well for HOW CAN I IMPROVE THE SHIFTING OF MY M5R2 TRANSMISSION There is really no good way to improve the shifting of your M5R2. There are upgrades and modifications that you can perform that will make slight improvements, but there is no real cure-all for the notchy shifting M5R2. OIL FILTER GASKET BLOWING OUT...LOOSING ALL MY OIL JC - I'd check what Brian mentioned. The threaded stud which the filter screws onto has come loose a couple of times on my SC's. There is also a gasket between the regular filter housing on the block & the added cooler casing - if that's failing then the stud will loosen and you'll also get a leak, which runs down the filter, looking like you didn't put it on tight enough. CODE 213 SPOUT CIRCUIT OPEN It is a 2-wire connector with a gray or black 'cork' that plugs into it. The 213 code indicates the 'cork' is missing. It's hard to describe in words, but the SPOUT 'connector' actually completes the circuit for the 2-wire connector. You're connecting 2 wires together, but you're doing it by plugging this 1"x1"x1/2" 'cork' into theconnector.

The higher the stall of the converter the less traction you will feel like you have. If you're already fighting traction issues fix that before getting a higherstall converter.
