Research. SF2040 is a programme facilitated by Seafish, funded by the European Maritime Fisheries Fund (EMFF) and supported by Defra and England’s seafood industry. NORTH ATLANTIC PELAGIC ADVOCACY GROUP The North Atlantic Pelagic Advocacy (NAPA) Group is a new market-led approach to improve North Atlantic pelagic fisheries management. NAPA was formed in response to the continuing dispute over mackerel quota allocation in the North East Atlantic. This dispute is resulting in annual catches well in excess of the advised catches. AQUACULTURE REGULATORY TOOLBOX FOR ENGLAND Farms produce a range of finfish, shellfish and crustaceans in marine, intertidal and freshwater environments. With increasing focus being placed on topics such as food and nutritional security, a growing population and increasing demand for healthy products, the English aquaculture industry must increase production to meet these needs. COMMERCIAL FISHING TRAINING COURSES Mandatory training requirements for UK commercial fishermen are set by the Marine and Coastguard Agency (MCA). Basic safety training.
