ELECTRIC VEHICLE HOME CHARGER GRANT A government funded support scheme to assist homeowners install an electric vehicle charge point on their property. The scheme provides a grant up to the value of €600 towards the purchase and installation of a home charger unit. The applicant must be the owner of an eligible new or second-hand electric vehicle (EV). Apply Now. NATIONAL HOME RETROFIT SCHEME National Home Retrofit Scheme. Residential sector has a large share of energy use. The residential sector accounts for about a quarter of the energy used in Ireland. It is also responsible for a quarter of the energy-related CO 2 emissions. From 2006 to 2014 there were significant reductions in the energy used in homes and the resulting CO 2 emissions.
