Sadly, this will not be the case in some THE NEIL GAIMAN READER: SELECTED FICTION The Neil Gaiman Reader was released in 2020. Anyone read it? A great tome for your shelves. This selection of Neil's short stories and little excerpts from his novels is superb. Personally I have read his novels but not many of his short stories before. There are 52 piecesof work here. I
DISCUSSION THREAD -- JUNE 2021 75-WORD WRITING … Accents can be difficult to pull off, but some of the best fiction can be written in the vernacular. Plus, the challenges are great places to experiment to see what works for you, so go for it! KINDLE DIRECT PUBLISHING I wish there was an option to cancel a post here as I've now answered my own question! Which was, how to locate spelling errors when KDP spellcheck has found them but only quotes you the line in which they occur without saying where it is. Anyway I used Control + 6.15 USS PENNSYLVANIA I don't know how much damage 10 nuclear warheads can inflict on the planet, but I'm guessing things will take a turn for the worse for anyone caught above ground when they start their return runs. I'll bullet point what I can remember and indicate my level of confidence in my memory: -it was set after some sort of calamity, nuclear or environmental, that the world was
MUNDANE MOVEMENT IN SCIENCE-FICTION? I think Ryman's idea (I read an interesting article years ago in the New York Review of Science Fiction) is, yeah, write unequivocal science fiction, feel free to set stories in the future and not even the near-near future necessarily -- but stick to extrapolations of the best science we have now. DRONE USED FOR AUTONOMOUS ATTACK A drone was used in Libya to attack opposing forces. It was programmed to go after the forces and did not make the attack decision on its own, but it did apparently identified the targets without human intervention. I have seen two separate reports of this, so I assume itis likely valid
YOU HAVE THE CON... OR COM... OK I'M AN IDIOT. HELP Hi, Its true, a sci-fi fan since 1972 and I'm uncertain what should be said when the average starship 'Captain' hands control over to the 'First Officer'. Is it con or com (and if so what does it mean) or, is it something else? Thanks, Rusty "There 'are' stupid questions."__ Menu
