RUN FOR THE ROSES DERBY WREATH Run for the Roses Derby Wreath. April 24, 2014 By Stacy 14 Comments. We are just a little over a week away from the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby. That means just over a week away from Mint Juleps, the singing of My Old Kentucky Home, and most importantly, the most exciting 2 minutes in sports!! Don’t forget the Spring dresses, large
VINYL LAYERING 101
Place your vinyl onto your surface, rub it down well, and then remove the contact paper. Continue the process until you have applied all your shapes. I like to refer back to my screen to make sure I am applying all the layers correctly. Now we are ready to add our name/monogram/initial. DIY MONOGRAMMED RING DISH Measure the inside bottom of your tasting dish. Mine was just shy of 2 inches in each direction. Using your design software, Silhouette Studio in my case, and design your monogram* and size it smaller than the dimensions of your dish. Cut out your monogram on any color or patterned vinyl and use your contact paper or transfer tape to pressyour
CUSTOM RIBBON
Create the image and text you want on your ribbon in real size meaning, measure your ribbon width and draw a rectangle in your design software to mimic the size of your ribbon. Then type in that rectangle, add graphics, clip art, monograms, whatever you want to “print” on your ribbon.HORSES AND HAIRBOWS
The craft was simple and only took about 10 minutes, which is the perfect length of time for a 3-5 year old’s attention span. I also pre-made “pony tails” for each girl to wear while they raced around on the hobby horses. We also played “Pin the Bow on the Pony” which was tons of fun for the girls. The favors: I hand made asatin bow
LOVE BANNER
1) Always set your blade to 10. 2) always set your cutter to double cut and slow the speed WAY down. If you are using thick glitter card stock, go down to 2. 3) Make sure that your mat is super sticky – you don’t want ANY shifting of the paper to occur. 4) After the machine is done double cutting DO NOT UNLOAD THE MAT until you havetested
