PAINTING ON SALT AND GLUE We love activities where we can use science to make something pretty, even if it’s sometimes just temporary. Recently, we made Paper Towel Art and learned a little about absorption, and we’ve done several colorful activities with baking soda and vinegar, like this one with baking soda letters.. SUPERHERO GRAPHING GAME Prepare the spinner by poking a hole in the center with the tip of a pen or pencil. Just make a small hole, the paper fastener will do the rest when you push it through the hole after threading a paper clip on it. If you’re using page 5, cut the individual superhero cards apart at the black lines. There are 9 for each superhero, enough to RAINBOW ART WITH COTTON BALLS We always enjoy a good, simple art activity around here!. I actually had these cotton balls earmarked for something else, and I wanted to dye them in rainbow colors. That turned out to be a little tricky, and while I was experimenting with cotton balls and liquid watercolors, I got the thought into my head that E would enjoy using the cotton ballsas a canvas.

I'M CALLING IT SILK DOUGH How to make Silk Dough: Mix cornstarch and dishwashing liquid until it’s still fluffy but will hold a shape when you squeeze it between your hands. You’ll need a lot less dish soap than cornstarch. If you’ve made Cloud Dough before, it works pretty much the same, except it’s even silkier and smoother. BUBBLE WRAP PAINTING AND PRINTING Additional suggestions: Use a wad of bubble wrap to make prints. Tape a piece of bubble wrap on your child’s hand like a mitten and paint or make prints with it. {I tried this previously but E didn’t like to have her hand covered.} Have you played with bubble wrap? FINE MOTOR PLAY WITH SCREWS AND ANCHORS You’ll need: A cardboard box. Screws and anchors. A screwdriver or other means of making holes in the cardboard.
