To keep the desirable higher pressure for outdoor hose bibs and sprinkler use, install the pressure regulator downstream from them. SIZING WATER SERVICE When we determine the diameter of a service line, we prioritize our customer's safety and satisfaction. We determine the size of a service pipe by the number and types of water fixtures in a residence or business. Each type of water fixture, such as a faucet, toilet, shower, washing machine, dishwasher, etc. has water flow requirements.
