HYUNDAI BLUE LINK REVIEW Hyundai Blue Link Review. The Good: Free for the first 3-12 months that you own your Hyundai. Works anywhere you have an internet connection, so it’s not limited to a range like a key fob. Three separate packages including Connected Care, Remote and Guidance (see image below). Pay for one two or all three to suit your needs. HOW TO CHANGE THE VOLUME ON RING ALARM DEVICES Thankfully there’s an easy way to adjust the volume. Here’s how to adjust the volume on any of your Ring Alarm devices: 1- Open the Ring Alarm app. 2- Tap the hamburger menu at the top left, then tap Devices. 3- Scroll through the device list until you see the Security heading. Alexa will record your voice and make every Echo device in the house chirp, followed by your announcement. In order to take advantage of this awesome new feature, you’ll need a Ring Alarm CONVERT ALL OF YOUR CEILING FANS TO WIFI FOR Convert All of Your Ceiling Fans to WiFi for $99. For years I have searched high and low for a smart ceiling fan controller that did everything I wanted, was easy to set up, and wouldn’t be absurdly expensive. There are a number of products on the market that may meet one of my requirements, but certainly none that met them all. HOW TO ENABLE ALEXA SMS (TEXT) MESSAGING 3- If you are not automatically prompted to enable SMS, click the Contacts icon at the top right (the little person). Then under your name, click My Profile. 4- Scroll down to Send SMS and tap the switch to turn this feature on. 5- Click OK to accept the terms. 6- Click Allow to allow Alexa to send SMS. It allows you to make Alexa-to-Alexa calls, Alexa-to-Alexa messages and mobile/landline calls from most Echo devices and using the Alexa app. Although Alexa Calling and Messaging requires a mobile phone number, it I'M FINALLY REPLACING MY NEST THERMOSTATS I’m Finally Replacing My Nest Thermostats. It was 3:00 AM. It always seems to be 3:00 AM when these things happen. This will keep you from being heard while the baby sleeps, and if you have to reconnect with drop in, it wont make a loud chime when you connect. HOW TO TURN OFF THOSE ANNOYING ALEXA SHOPPING AND ANSWER Alexa notifications have been around for a couple of years now and can be extremely useful in some cases. If you are not familiar with Alexa notifications, this is a push notification sent to your Echo devices that causes a yellow ring to flash on the device. HOW TO ARM AND DISARM RING ALARM BY VOICE WITH AN AMAZON First, open the Alexa app, then tap the smart home devices button on the bottom right of the screen At the top of the screen scroll all the way to the right until you see All Devices and tap it. Find Ring (you may have named your device something different. It will have a shield icon with a checkbox in the center) in the device list and tap it. GETTING STARTED WITH HOME AUTOMATION In my shed example, I thought I had this covered and bought the WeMo switches, only to find that my D-Link Wireless N300 router could barely cover the interior of my house, let alone get signal across my yard. After doing a ton of research I decided to replace it with an Asus RT-AC68U, which is in my opinion the best wireless router in the price range right now. HYUNDAI BLUE LINK REVIEW The Features. HOW TO SET UP HUE SUNSET AND SUNRISE ROUTINES From within the Hue app, click the cog icon to open the settings; Next, open the Advanced settings Here you will have to set your home location, so Hue knows when sunrise and sunset will be in your area. This is a required step for these routines. If you try to skip to just setting up the routine, you will be prompted to set your location. HOW TO SET UP ALEXA ROOM AWARENESS UPDATE 2/15/18: Amazon has recently updated the Alexa app to allow you to change the device types of smart outlets, plugs and switches. For years I have searched high and low for a smart ceiling fan controller that did everything I wanted, was easy to set up, and wouldn’t be absurdly expensive. There are a number of products on the market that may meet HOW TO ENABLE ALEXA SMS (TEXT) MESSAGING 3- If you are not automatically prompted to enable SMS, click the Contacts icon at the top right (the little person). Then under your name, click My Profile. 4- Scroll down to Send SMS and tap the switch to turn this feature on. 5- Click OK to accept the terms. 6- Click Allow to allow Alexa to send SMS.
