Just look at how the Ya Kun success story spawned numerous other air-conditioned shops also selling kopi and toast not only in Singapore but in Malaysia, too! It’s the same thing for tau sar piah. But did you know that the curry puffs and char siew (barbecued pork) crispy cakes here are real delightstoo?
SPOTTED: SCRABBLE AND MONOPOLY Whilst browsing the candy section at the local supermarket, these unusual products caught my eye. Scrabble and Monopoly, two of the world’s most popular board games, can now be eaten. That’s right; the game pieces are made of chocolate. The chocolate editions of Scrabble and Monopoly are produced by Canadian chocolatier Laura Secord. At the NTUC Fairprice supermarket (Orchard Grand ALEXANDRA VILLAGE FOOD CENTRE: TIONG BAHRU LIEN FA SHUI Lately I’ve been discovering a number of gems at Alexandra Village Food Centre. I used to go there only for the awesome grilled stingray. But with new finds like claypot laksa and teochew snacks, there are actually many more reasons to make a trip there. Even more recently, I stumbled upon my newest find of these little buns of heaven at Tiong Bahru Lien Fa Shui Jing Bao – crystal A (REALLY BAD) PRAWN JOKE I don’t readily post jokes or stuff I read on the internet on my blog. But this funny story is so corny and hilarious I can’t help giggling like a silly 12 year old when I read it. It has been floating around the internet for a long time. GREENHOUSE AT THE RITZ-CARLTON, MILLENIA SINGAPORE I love buffets, especially the ones at nice hotels because the service is almost always wonderful and the wait staff are efficient in clearing plates from your table so that there would constantly be room for more plates. I was quite keen to check out the seafood buffet at Greenhouse, the lobby restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton, MilleniaSingapore.

For the past one month or so I have been eating myself fat with all these dumplings – and I don’t even care! Over at my place it’s dumpling festival everyday. This little bakery has been raved about time and again by journalists and bloggers alike. Yet I find it absolutely necessary to blog about it at least once, in case some of you do not know of it.
