THE ESTA MANTHOS INDIAN MOTOCYCLE COLLECTION Founded by George M. Hendee and Carl Oscar Hedstrom, Indian Manufacturing Company produced motorcycles in Springfield from 1901 to 1953. The museum’s collection features more than two dozen motorcycles donated by Esta Manthos, co-founder and president of the former Indian Motocycle Museum which was located on Hendee Street in Springfield from 1974 to 2006. JOHNSON'S BOOKSTORE, A HISTORY Johnson’s Bookstore, an iconic Main Street institution in Springfield, Massachusetts, for over a century, was established by Henry R. Johnson in 1893. It was owned and managed by four generations of the Johnson family until its closing in 1997. Over its lifetime the store occupied five successively larger Main Street locations, allwithin a

At the age of twenty-four he obtained his first automobile, a 1917 Franklin. His second car was a Marmon. Every three years, artists living and working in the United States are invited to submit one of their recent portraits to a panel of experts chosen by the museum in the call for the Outwin Boochever PortraitCompetition.
WOMEN IN AEROSPACE: STORIES FROM THE SMITHSONIAN Women in Aerospace: Stories from the Smithsonian Collection. Presentation will take place via the video conferencing app ZOOM.
