CREATING A BODY CAST: In this section I will show you how to pull a bodycast of a human figure. The process is relatively simple yet verydangerous.
VACUUMFORMING
Vacuumforming: Releasing the Plastic. 01 Unlock the clamps on the frame and pull the top frame off. Then pull the tape off. 02 Recycle the tape. If you are pulling multiple molds, try to recycle the tape by using it in the next frame pull. The kneepad for the Biker Scout is more of an overall cube shape than anything. It has these odd looking ridges cut into edges of the facets of the kneepad. The top of the kneepad has a rounded look to it due to the 3 beveled surfaces. The Trench Coat The Trench Coat portion of the Snowtrooper costume was custom sewn by ILM artisans. ILM made two different trench coats forthe movie.
ENDOR REBEL SOLDIER
There is a 61 cm (24 inch) long slit is sewn up the bottom-back of the trench coat, allowing for better maneuverability while wearing the coat. FLEET TROOPER HELMET Rebel Tech Helmet (Kit) This kit recreates the look of the helmets that the technicians wore while getting the star fighters ready in the hanger bay. The Bandoliers The ILM Screen-used Bandoliers were actually World War 2 Enfield .308 ammo bandoliers used by the Allied forces. Prior to 2005, costumers could purchase these online/offline at various Army-Navy Supply stores for about $50.00 each, no days, they are toughto find.
BIKER SCOUT
The kneepad for the Biker Scout is more of an overall cube shape than anything. It has these odd looking ridges cut into edges of the facets of the kneepad. The top of the kneepad has a rounded look to it due to the 3 beveled surfaces. The bottom of the kneepads have a slight outward curve along the edge, they are not supposed to be completely DREDD - HELMET - STUDIO CREATIONS Here is a paraphrased quote from Robb Allsopp, Key Principal Costumer for the Dredd movie, about the paint colors used in making the helmets, "The helmet is gloss black, with gloss red trim. After painting, there was a lot of breakdown/weathering work. The exact color of red was a custom mix." (thanks to Jared Butler for acquiringthat quote.)
