THE NATIONAL CYCLE NETWORK The National Cycle Network is a UK-wide network of signed paths and routes for walking, cycling, wheeling and exploring outdoors. Find out more about the Network. ROUTE 47 - SUSTRANS.ORG.UK Route 47 runs from Newport to Fishguard and forms part of the Celtic Trail West which runs from Chepstow to Pembrokeshire. From Fishguard the route takes you inland through the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and on to Carmarthen, Llanelli and Swansea. The route then takes you into Newport and onto the famous Transporter Bridge where Route 47 ROUTE 13 - SUSTRANS.ORG.UK The route can be thought of in 4 sections: 1. Tower Bridge to Grays /Tilbury. Sticking relatively close to the north bank of the Thames heading eastwards, Route 13 passes through Albert Dock and Rainham Marshes on its way to Grays and Tilbury. Transform the Network by replacing existing on-road sections with new traffic-free paths or by creating quiet-way sections so it is safer for everyone. Ensure that where the Network is on a quiet-way section the speed limit is 20mph in built-up areas and 40mph in rural areas. Improve safety at crossings where the Network crosses roads orrailways.
ROUTE 71 - SUSTRANS.ORG.UK National Route 71 of the National Cycle Network makes up the western third of the C2C route between Whitehaven or Workington and Blencow (Penrith).
