TRANSPORTATION THEME FOR TODDLERS Transportation Theme for Toddlers. As a mom to three boys, we have plenty of toys that are transportation related: trains, tractors, cars, trucks, and so much more! My kids naturally gravitate towards playing with these toys. Planning transportation theme activities for them is a no-brainer because they love it! WHAT IS SMALL WORLD PLAY AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? Imagination encircles the world. When you do small world play with other children, they learn how to share, play nicely together, and imagine together. Small world play is also great to do independently. It can be an activity that children do independently to work on doing activities alone. That’s a great skill to work on with children! EXPLORING WITH MAGNETS-4 FUN ACTIVITIES FOR PRESCHOOLERS Magnets are so much fun for kids to play with and explore. We recently learned about magnetism with some fun activities! Here are some experiments that we tried. First, we took chalk and placed it in a Ziploc bag. Troy smashed the chalk pieces with a meat tenderizer until it was just powder. We loved the school and teachers, but because of my husband's non-traditional work schedule, the school schedule made it hard for the boys to see their dad. Family life is super important to us, so we thought homeschooling would be a great option. We are excited for the year ahead as we will have a 2nd grader and 4th grader. AMERICAN FLAG PARADE BAG by Angela Thayer 1 Comment This week we'll celebrate the 4th of July! We have a tradition of going to our city's parade and it's so fun! Of course, they pass out little goodies and prizes during the parade. We usually just bring a plastic bag to the parades to carry everything, but since we're trying to eliminate plastic in our lives I thought of a new idea for carrying our goodies. We made a simple American flag parade bag and I love it! Materials for the American Flag Parade Bag: 2 pieces of paper (cardstock …
