THE GREAT OCEAN ROAD LONDON ARCH Perhaps one of the more popular stops along the Great Ocean Road is the London Arch, formerly London Bridge before its freak collapse on the 15th of January 1990. Formed by continuous erosion as the waves of the southern ocean crashes against the shore I STREET ART IN LONDON The tour runs through London’s East End covering the Spitalfields, Banglatown and Shoreditch areas. Over two hours you learn about paste ups, stencils and spray can’s which are all used to create some seriously stunning art work. A Welcome Home Sunrise. I’ve just returned home to Australia after some 7-8 months abroad in Europe and one of the first things I noticed was just how much I’ve missed the blue skies and beautiful sunrises I took for granted growing up. I snapped the above photo still half asleep and battling jetlag from my family home yesterday and thought MUST SEE PLACES BEFORE YOU DIE I’ve been lucky this year, and have been able to cross a lot of places off my “must see before I die” list (like Iceland, San Francisco, Istanbul and London), and have crossed some others you suggested off before (like Rome, the Great Wall, and NYC). DRIVING THE GREAT OCEAN ROAD Anita I think riding the great ocean road would be amazing and it lets you stop whenever you want to really appreciate the view. Doing the 12 apostles for sunrise would have been the best view, I think there are less people there due to the distance it is from most places which is good for those making the effort to be there early.UNDERGROUND NAPLES
By way of trap door under a bed in an adjoining room we ventured down into the basement revealing the ancient brickwork that formed the theater. Amazingly the person who had lived in the house for years beforehand knew nothing of the significance of their house or all the the ones that surround it until the last couple of years. Why Do You Travel? I’ve not looked back at my decision to travel anywhere near as much as I have in the last week. After all I’ve quit my job, you know that place you go for 8+ hours a day and at the end of the week they give you money. Not only that but I will be saying goodbye to all of my friends and family for who knows how long. A DAY ON THE AMALFI COAST A Day on The Amalfi Coast. March 14, 2011 | POSTED IN Travel Thoughts. Stepping off the train in Sorrento where the local bus departs to Amalfi I had to run the gauntlet straight away. People everywhere and they all wanted on a bus to somewhere along the Amalfi Coast. It’s amazing to see such a change occur within around 60 kilometers as that is the distance between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. WHAT TO SEE AND DO IN BRINDISI The See and Do. Brindisi is scattered with sights to explore at your own pace and that means walking and lots of it. The very streets and buildings that fill the town make stopping here worth it but if you need incentive then try one of these. THE LONDON BLITZ AT ALDWYCH STATION Learning about the history of a place is what really tickles my travelling taste buds. So when Justin from 48houradventure.com invited me along to one of the events setup to mark the 70th Anniversary of the London Blitz I jumped at the chance.. At the now closed Aldwych Tube Station the London Transport Museum re-created what it was like for people during the blitz. STREET ART IN LONDON The tour runs through London’s East End covering the Spitalfields, Banglatown and Shoreditch areas. Over two hours you learn about paste ups, stencils and spray can’s which are all used to create some seriously stunning art work. STREET ART IN LONDON The tour runs through London’s East End covering the Spitalfields, Banglatown and Shoreditch areas. Over two hours you learn about paste ups, stencils and spray can’s which are all used to create some seriously stunning art work. Of course you will also learn the names of these artist’s like Stik, Mighty Mo, Ben Eine and Invader to THE LONDON BLITZ AT ALDWYCH STATION Learning about the history of a place is what really tickles my travelling taste buds. So when Justin from 48houradventure.com invited me along to one of the events setup to mark the 70th Anniversary of the London Blitz I jumped at the chance.. At the now closed Aldwych Tube Station the London Transport Museum re-created what it was like for people during the blitz. HOW MUCH DID IT COST Amsterdam is a place to party and have fun, with that comes a great deal of expense. Looking at the costs now I can’t believe I spent over $400 aussie dollars in just 4 days. To compare the costs to today’s exchange rate, leaving Australia now (November 2014) it would cost you $431.67 AUD with the current rate of 1 AUD = 0.70 Euro. DO YOU AVOID TOURISTY PLACES WHEN YOU TRAVEL? On the one hand many places are touristy for a reason. Places like Los Angeles could be tied to some form of historic significance or for other things such as Salons in the Los Angeles. Alternatively these may be iconic natural wonders of the world like Uluru in Australia, Niagara Falls in Canada/America or the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland.
