What Is This Podcast? The British History Podcast is a chronological telling of the story of Britain. I started in the Ice Age, and I’ve been steadily moving forward ever since. The focus of this podcast is upon the human drama that is played out in history. Rather than providing a dry recount of dates 373 - THE FIRST KING Earl AElfgar was having a rough time. The clergy and local lords of East Anglia had never really warmed up to him since his appointment to the post in 1053. Their loyalty to Harold went so deep that we can still see evidence of their loyalty to the House of Godwin insurviving records.
THE OFFICIAL WAY TO LISTEN TO THE PODCAST I enjoy an Old Fashioned from time to time, but I’ve been on a Boulevardier kick these days. That said, may I offer a tip or two? First, it’s taking so long to dissolve the sugar crystals because you’re dissolving them in booze, rather than in water, which is a much better solvent. Incredible An enormous undertaking the likes of which I have literally never seen. I've listened to all 140 episodes since the beginning in the last 6 months. Jamie packs a huge amount of factual information into a very entertaining narrative. Cannot reccomendenough.
BUYYELLOWPAPER 11/13/2014*
Essential Listening Jamie is both passionate about the subject and well read. Great for the armchair historian (like myself), the student looking for a solid grounding in our nations past, or the parent looking flesh out their gaps in National Curriculum topics. Not limited to Jamie's narration, it breaks the mould with interviews and experimentation (and a dry humour) that make it eminently accessible and a splendid companion on any long commute. NIKHEWITT 11/26/2012*
I have listened to them all I am a bit of a history podcast nerd. I have listened to all of Mike Duncan's work and thought nobody could tread water with him. I was wrong Jamie is different, but just as good. I have listened to all his work and his members only podcasts. I have been recommending this podcast to people in my personal life for nothing other than the joy of spreading the word that this is a great podcast. That's how satisfied I am with this podcast. If you are searching for a history podcast you can not go wrong with the BHP.VETRO 1/26/2017
