In 2020, we grew four varieties of shelling beans at The Ecology Center: Black Beans, Cranberry Beans, Tepary Beans, and Mayocoba. One of the great benefits of shelling beans, in addition to their ability to fix nitrogen in the soil, is that they can be harvested fresh or allowed to dry in their pods. 10 WAYS TO USE A TUBTRUG A Tubtrug in the kitchen sink collects rinse water that you can reuse to nourish your garden. 2. Harvest Vegetables. Carry a Tubtrug at your side as you gather your garden harvest. 3. Mix Soil. Use your Tubtrug to mix together the core components of a nutrient-rich soil. 4. StoreEquipment.

FARM STAND ONLINE + CURBSIDE PICK-UP We’re eager to support your basic needs of health and nutrition. We are offering Farm Share boxes weekly to provide you and your family with fresh, organic fruits and vegetables. Produce comes from our farm and our partners’. Farm Share Resilience Boxes are available online, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Beyond produce we also have a curated list for your pantry needs: eggs, dairy, bread, grains, and more. Boxes are available for curbside pick-up in San Juan Capistrano on Tuesdays and Thursdays and in Encinitas every other Tuesday. 10% of all boxes will be donated to those in need.
