The Parklands is made up of four parks and the Strand, a collection of land that links the two northern and the two southern parks. From north to south, the major areas of The Parklands run in this order: Beckley Creek Park, Pope Lick Park, the Strand, Turkey Run Park, andBroad Run Park.
FISHING | THE PARKLANDS OF FLOYDS FORK The Parklands is also home to over 40 species of fish, including striped shiners, rainbow darters, bluntnose minnows, central stonerollers, and others. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife protects threatened flora and fauna, and also stocks Floyds Fork and select lakes with game fish. A fishing license is required for anglersover the
PADDLING | THE PARKLANDS OF FLOYDS FORK Winding through upland meadows and farm fields and bottomland forests, Floyds Fork empties into the Salt River, which flows another 25 miles until it drains into the Ohio River. THE PARKLANDS PARTNERS To realize our vision of creating Louisville’s newest urban park system, 21st Century Parks, Inc. dba The Parklands of Floyds Fork met the $130 million capital campaign goal, raising the funds required to acquire land and construct The Parklands. The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) built this park so that the amenities are suited to every level of rider.
