NEW COVID-19 RELIEF FUNDS, SAME PANDEMIC Almost 10 months after the disbursal of the first Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, a second emergency grant of approximately $48.6 million has been issued to Cal Poly Pomona under the newly passed Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act. Despite the $17.7 million increase in funds compared to those providedby the
HIKING STEPS INTO A PANDEMIC TREND Hiking has always been an accessible activity, but with the pandemic, the popularity in the activity has soared. According to a RunRepeat research study, in 2020, the number of hikes tracked by users on the AllTrails app increased by 171.3% compared to 2019. The number of hikers has also increased by 134.7%, according to the study. URIAH SANDERS IS FOUND AND SAFE FOLLOWING THE CPP AND When the news broke of Uriah Sanders’ disappearance, the Cal Poly Pomona and local community took it upon itself to find him, and successfully did so on July 20. IMPORTANCE OF MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH IN SPORTS While student-athletes are talented in their sports and work very hard to be the best, a lot goes on behind the scenes to make sure they are mentally and physically prepared.
