SCA's Community Programs offer you a way to make an enduring environmental impact while commuting from home to local sites in your community. You'll make friends, improve the health of your city, and start on your way to becoming a leader in the local conservation movement. SERVE | THE STUDENT CONSERVATION ASSOCIATION You’ll find opportunities in a variety of fields and locations, ranging from team-based programs to individual internships. Our programs will connect you with the most relevant government agencies, nonprofit organizations and corporate sector partners leading the POSITIONS | THE STUDENT CONSERVATION ASSOCIATION The Coastal Bird Steward will work with Alabama Audubon to protect nesting shorebirds along the Alabama coast. The steward will collect data on human disturbance and conduct outreach activities aimed at educating the public about beach-nesting birds. There’s an awe in rediscovering the night sky, and it’s one of the many reasons I go backpacking and camping. I keep the rainfly off my tent, lay back, and observe. With BP’s support, SCA engaged local youth and young adults in strengthening watersheds, planting trees, and forging resiliency. You'll make friends, improve the health of your city, and start on your way to becoming a leader in the local conservation movement. 2021 EDMONDS SUMMER LEADER Program Dates: July 6th – August 6th 2021Training Dates: Virtual Leader Training June 21st - 25th, 2021; Local Edmonds Training: June 28th -July 2nd 2021 (mandatory paid training)Primary Responsibilities:As a Crew Leader you lead, supervise, transport, and mentor a team of five high school youth, ages 14-19 for six weeks (Mon-Fri).
