Building the Sprout House. First, my kiddos selected their base. Both chose the green sponge to look like grass. Then, they cut a second sponge in half to form 2 walls. To make the other walls, they cut the third sponge in half. Then, they cut one of those halves in halfagain. For
HOT DOG ADDITION CARDS The first student picked a hot dog card and read the number sentence aloud: 3+2. She chose 3 yellow “mustard” cubes and 2 red “ketchup” cubes and laid them on the table above the hotdog addition card. Then, she said the entire math problem out loud: “3 yellow + 2 red = 5 all together.”. WALKING WATER RAINBOW SCIENCE EXPERIMENT This rainbow science experiment is as magic as the science behind it. The colored water travels up the paper towel by a process called capillary action. Capillary action is the ability of a liquid to flow upward, against gravity, in narrow spaces. This is the same thing that helps water climb from a plant’s roots to the leaves in the treetops.

ICE CREAM SKIP COUNTING PUZZLES Prepping the skip counting puzzles was quick and easy. I printed the sheets (below) on cardstock to give them extra durability and make the colors pop. Then, I cut around the border of each ice cream scoop and cone to separate the pieces. I slid each set in a separate Ziploc (one for the 10s, another for the 5s, etc.) to keep the pieces together. WALKING WATER RAINBOW SCIENCE EXPERIMENT This rainbow science experiment is as magic as the science behind it. The colored water travels up the paper towel by a process called capillary action. Capillary action is the ability of a liquid to flow upward, against gravity, in narrow spaces. This is the same thing that helps water climb from a plant’s roots to the leaves in the treetops.
HOW TO MAKE BOUNCY BALLS The first step to making the bouncy balls was to prepare the borax and water mixture. My 5 year old daughter measured out 1/2 cup of warm water and 1 T of borax. Then she gave the mixture a good stir to dissolve the borax. Next, she prepared the bouncy ball mixture by combining the glue and cornstarch. The measurements are a littleforgiving so
