SEAN SPICER WILL SEND YOUR LOVED ONES A CUSTOM VALENTINE'S DAY MESSAGEFOR JUST $199
February 12, 2020
Sean Spicer has the answer to your last-minute Valentine's Dayscramble.
The former White House press secretary is generously offering up custom video messages once priced at $400 for a mere $199 through the end of February. "If you forgot to get someone you love a thoughtful Valentine's Day gift, it's not too late," Spicer shared in an Instagram video posted Tuesday. Just find him on the Cameo app and you'll "get the best way to tell someone you love them (a video from me)" by Friday. While it may seem like a high price from a man who once gave us somewhat daily video messages on the government's dime, Spicer isn't just pocketing your cash. Every dollar will go to The Independence Fund, specifically to help buy wheelchairs for wounded veterans, Spicer says on Cameo. So forget the flowers that will wilt in a week and get a custom message that will hold your loved one's interest for at least as long. _KathrynKrawczyk_

"We are pleased that Andrew McCabe and his family can go on with their lives without this cloud hanging over them." McCabe has alleged his firing was politically motivated, in a lawsuitlast year claiming
it was part of a "plan and scheme to discredit and remove DOJ and FBI employees" who weren't "politically loyal" to Trump. The Justice Department's inspector general concluded in a 2018 report McCabe "lacked candor" under oath multiple times when questioned by investigators about authorizing a leak of information to _The Wall Street Journal_. McCabe denied intentionally lying to investigators. "Based on the totality of the circumstances and all of the information known to the government at this time, we consider the matter closed," prosecutors said Friday, per _The Associated Press_.
Friday's news is sure to spark some angry tweets by Trump, who has repeatedly blasted McCabe on Twitter, writing in 2018after
the release of the inspector general's report, "He LIED! LIED! LIED!" _Bloomberg_'s Jennifer Jacobs noted Friday that given this context, the decision not to charge McCabe "could be politically explosive." _Brendan Morrow_the weinstein trial

WEINSTEIN IS AN 'ABUSIVE RAPIST' WHO SAW HIMSELF AS 'MASTER OF HIS UNIVERSE,' PROSECUTOR SAYS IN CLOSING ARGUMENT12:36 p.m.
David Dee Delgado/Getty Images Harvey Weinstein, an "abusive rapist," saw his alleged victims as "ants who he could step on" but ultimately "underestimated" them, lead prosecutor Joan Illuzzi told jurors Friday as his rape trial nears itsend.
After the defense in Weinstein's trial rested its case earlier this week and made its closing argument Thursday,
Illuzzi on Friday began to wrap the prosecution's case, saying the disgraced producer saw himself as "the master of his universe, and the witnesses here were really ants who he could step on without consequences," __per _The Hollywood Reporter_.
Weinstein is facing sexual assault and rape charges stemming from the allegations of two women, one of whom alleges he forcibly performed oral sex on her in 2006 and one of whom alleges he raped her in 2013. Four additional accusers testified in the trial. Weinstein's defense has argued the encounters were consensual and throughout the trial has pointed to witnesses maintaining contact with Weinstein. But Illuzzi in her closing argument said Weinstein "made sure he had contact" with the women "to make sure that one day they wouldn't call him for exactly what he was: an abusive rapist," _Variety _reports.
"Well, he was wrong." For this reason, Illuzzi said Weinstein "underestimated them." Defense attorney Donna Rotunno on Thursday suggested one of Weinstein's accusers, Annabella Sciorra, made up her rape claim against him in order to become "relevant" and a "star." Illuzzi in her closing argument strongly refuted this idea. "How Hollywood movie star is it for Annabella Sciorra to have to tell you that she was cutting herself and she was dabbing her blood with a tissue, putting it on the wall, and putting gold foil over it?” Illuzzi asked, per the _Reporter_. "Do you think that's a careerbooster?"
Following the conclusion of closing arguments, the jury is set to begin deliberations next week. Weinstein is facing the possibility of life in prison. _Brendan Morrow_ More From Around The Web Sponsored Links by ZergNet More From Around The Web Sponsored Links Gayle King Forgives Snoop Dogg for Kobe Bryant RantPageSix.com Melania Trump Endures 'the Worst Booing She Has Received'Marketwatch.com Michael Moore Says 'There is One Person That Would CrushTrump'Aol.com

CHINA'S HUBEI PROVINCE ENACTS 'WARTIME' MEASURES AS CORONAVIRUS COUNTRISES TO 16,427
12:30 p.m.
STR/AFP via Getty Images Coronavirus is continuing to spread throughout China and especially in the epicenter Hubei province, the World Health Organization said in a Friday update briefingon COVID-19.
There are 47,505 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 throughout China with 1,381 deaths reported from the pneumonia-like illness it causes, including 121 deaths reported in the past day. Six of those who died were health care workers — "a critical piece of information" as WHO continues to investigate why even rigorous medical guidelines haven't stopped the spread, WHO reported Friday. A total of 1,716 health care workers in China have contracted COVID-19 despite WHO's guidelines, so this weekend, a team of 12 international and WHO experts will arrive in China to meet with local medical professionals for a "joint mission." The experts will particularly look at disease transmission and response measures to see how processes for health care workers, who "are working with virtually no sleep in difficult conditions," can be improved, WHO said. Meanwhile, Hubei, home to the epicenter city of Wuhan, is enacting "enacting 'wartime' measures," such as blocking people from going outside, "sealing off residential complexes and allowing only essential vehicles on the roads," _The Washington Post_ reports.
The virus has kicked off an "economic fallout" throughout China, with flower sales reportedly falling as much as 95 percent this Valentine's Day, the _Post_ continues. _Kathryn Krawczyk_ More From Around The Web Sponsored Links by ZergNet More From Around The Web Sponsored Links Old-School Candies We'll Sadly Never Get to Have AgainMashed.com John F. GIULIANI CLAIMS HE CAN 'PROVE' A 'DEMOCRATIC SCAM' IN UKRAINE WITH IPAD FULL OF 'REPORTS' HE NEVER ACTUALLY SHARES10:21 a.m.
Rudy Giuliani has a fresh crop of claims about Democrats' dealings in Ukraine — an iPad full of "proof" he won't let anyone else see. The former New York City mayor made a Fox Business appearance on Thursday night to push any corruption in Ukraine on Democrats' shoulders. "They're going to be very surprised when they see the report that I have" apparently revealing an "unaccounted for" $5.3 billion in Ukraine aid during the Obama administration, Giuliani said, not exactly specifying who "they" are. That aid gap apparently explains "how all those oligarchs become oligarchs," Giuliani said, making some chomping noises and motions to imitate his interpretation of how money is laundered. Giuliani goes on to mention this mysterious report over and over, which apparently shows how "not just" the Bidens engaged in a "huge Democratic scam" in Ukraine. "That's why they're so crazy on the subject of Ukraine, and why they want to literally kill me," Giuliani said of Democrats, without any proof of this murderous plot. "I don't think it. I can prove it," Giuliani claimed again before breaking out a tablet containing a "document" that does just that — not that he actually shows it to the audience. Giuliani hasn't publicized any proof for his claims, and more than 12 hours after claiming "we're gonna reveal the whole thing," still hasn't done so. _Kathryn Krawczyk_ no one's ever really goneEdit
_STRANGER THINGS_ SEASON 4 TEASER CONFIRMS A SEEMINGLY-DEADCHARACTER'S RETURN
9:47 a.m.
He's not dead, Jim!
Netflix on Friday dropped a surprise teaser for the fourth season of _Stranger Things_, which ends with a massive reveal: Jim Hopper is still alive. _Stranger Things_' third season wrapped up with the emotional apparent death of David Harbour's character, although a popular fan theory suggested he secretly survived. The finale's final scene cryptically referred to an "American" who the Russians were holding prisoner, and although we never see this unidentified person, fans believed it to be Hopper. A teaser released Friday seems to confirm that, showing Hopper at what looks to be a Russian prison camp. Even though Hopper's survival was a popular fan theory, many assumed Netflix would attempt to keep his return a secret up until the release of the new season, similar to how HBO's marketing for _Game of Thrones_' sixth season kept up the charade that Kit Harington wouldn't be back as Jon Snow. But Netflix has opted for the opposite approach, getting the return of Hopper right out of the way in the season's veryfirst teaser.
No release date for the fourth season of _Stranger Things_ been set, although it looks unlikely to arrive until next year or the very end of this year at the earliest. Good news, Harbour: Netflix just spared you from having to live a lie until then. BrendanMorrow

TRUMP HAS ALREADY TWEETED ABOUT BARR'S INTERVIEW COMPLAINING ABOUT HISTWEETS
9:21 a.m.
President Trump has a message for Attorney General William Barr: Iwill never log off.
Barr in a rare rebuke of Trump on Thursday criticized the president's tweets about Department of Justice cases in an interview with ABC News, begging him to knock them off because they're making his jobdifficult.
"I think it's time to stop the tweeting about Department of Justice criminal cases," Barr said in the interview,
saying tweets like these from the president "make it impossible for me to do my job." This came amid an ongoing controversy over the Department of Justice reversing its sentencing recommendation for longtime Trump adviser Roger Stone after Trump angrily tweeted aboutit.
So what was Trump's response to Barr begging him to stop it with the DOJ-related tweets? Another DOJ-related tweet, of course. Trump on Friday quoted a _different_ part of the interview in which Barr said Trump has "never asked me to do anything in a criminal case," with Trump claiming this is true but only because he has "chosen not to" — at least "so far." Perhaps Trump's DVR cut off the "stop tweeting" portion of the interview, or he saw it but will just go ahead and decline to take that advice. Brendan Morrowmixed messages

FOX HOST LOU DOBBS IS FURIOUS AT BARR FOR PUBLICLY CHIDING TRUMP. TRUMP 'WASN'T BOTHERED.'8:50 a.m.
Attorney General William Barr took the unusual step Thursday of going on President Trump's favorite medium, TV, to complain that Trump'stweeting
about Roger Stone's sentence and other Justice Department matters makes it "impossible for me to do my job." Barr's criticism wouldn't have come as a surprise to Trump, a person familiar with the situation tells _Politico_.
"The attorney general had talked to the president a number of times and told him he was getting frustrated with these statements." Congressional Republicans agreed with Barr that Trump should curb his tweeting. Democrats suggested Barr was really complaining that Trump is making it "impossible" to quietly do his bidding. White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said Trump "wasn't bothered by the comments." This "benign response from the White House prompted speculation from some quarters that Barr‘s message was aimed more at calming the furor at the Justice Department over the episode than actually scolding Trump," _Politico_ reports.
Not all of Trump's allies responded so benignly, though. "I am so disappointed in Bill Barr," Fox Business host Lou Dobbs exclaimed Thursday night. Barr's job is to stomp out "the deep state," not join it, he said. "I don't want to hear any crap about an independent Justice Department. This Justice Department, as does every one, worksfor the president."
Dobbs was giving public voice to months of Trump's behind-the-scenes raging "toward the Justice Department — more about whom the department has not charged with crimes than about whom it has charged," like Stone, _The Washington Post_ reports.
After Barr's Justice Department declined to charge former FBI Director James Comey, for example, Trump "complained so loudly and swore so frequently in the Oval Office that some of his aides discussed it fordays."
_Slate_'s Dahlia Lithwick noted the disconnect between congressional Republicans always waving off Trump's tweeted attacks on varioustargets — judges
,
jurors
,
New York
— and "Bill Barr saying, 'Oh, no, these tweets are ... real and they're consequential, and they're making it hard to do my job.'" It's "just head-snapping," she said on MSNBC, "that we can't pick whether these tweets are a joke or whether they're real."
