HOT WHEELS: LOOKING BACK AT ALL THAT TRACK Brian looks back upon his childhood and reminisces about the endless need for Hot Wheels tracks and new and better playsets. OFFENSIVE BOARD GAMES There are a lot of wholesome family oriented games in the market, and those are largely the ones we discuss here on TMA. However, I feel it would be a huge disservice to our party-loving, adult theme accepting readers not to point out some of the 'best' 76 GREATEST BOARD GAMES OF ALL TIME...THAT I HAVEN'T HEARD OF So I’m taking this quiz- which asks which of the 76 board greatest board games ever I have heard of and played. I feel obligated to share with you the list of the 76 games, in hopes that some of you willshare my sentiment.
GUS' RESPONSE TO GAME INFORMER: 10 UNDERDOGS THAT DEFINED This November, Game Informer Magazine released a cover story for their 212th issue that resulted in both positive and negative reception. It was a story that took 30 video game characters created over the last decade, and declared them as the ones who defined the video game community with the leaps and bounds we have made to reach what is now a whole new era of interactive story telling. GREEN TOYS TEA SET: A TRADITION MADE EARTH-FRIENDLY I am a boy, yet I was never one to say no to a good old-fashioned sit-down tea party with the ladies. There are a few toys that I'll go so far as say, "These are required for young minds to grow and have fulfilled childhoods." That list goes as follows: Slinkies, 3 CLASSIC BOARD GAMES WORTH THE DOWNLOAD I was pleasantly surprised to learn not too long ago (I know, I’m behind on the times) that you could play board games on your devices. Given the direction of things it makes sense that the board game industry would want to jump on the app wagon, a worthy attempt to stay‘relevant’.
PUNCH CLUB, ALL OF FIGHTING'S BEST CLICHES IN ONE SPOT Then this past week I read an article at Polygon about some guys that got their game in front of people with little more than just some live streaming. It’s a good story of a little guy making it big(ish). The game was Punch Club from a TinyBuild Games. The name alone would be enough to get my attention but then I saw the pixel-ish graphics and that it was a fight manager game rather than a A POINTLESS RAGE ON LICENSED BOARD GAMES Licensed board gamesare they good or evil? I guess it depends on your age. A while back I was taking a leisurely stroll down the board game section of my local mega-store, when suddenly I got choked up with a paralyzing rage. What could have possibly been between Jenga and Banagrams that got me so worked up that I TOP 10 BIGGEST PLOT HOLES IN DRAGONBALL Z 9. When characters die, they go to the Spirit Realm, a place on another plane of existence where there is a check-in station, a Heaven, a Hell, and planets above those where the Kais live to govern everything. MY TOP 10 MOST UNATTAINABLE TOYS Okay, yes, this one was a few years before my time. It was released in 1985, and is to this day the biggest action figure playsetknown-to-geek.

Okay, I hear you, the Wii has a general lack of constantly new and huge titles worth checking out. But to be fair, this happens on all the systems, not just the Wii. Regardless, if you own 3 CLASSIC BOARD GAMES WORTH THE DOWNLOAD I was pleasantly surprised to learn not too long ago (I know, I’m behind on the times) that you could play board games on your devices. STARDEW VALLEY, WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL? Stardew Valley starts off like every other RPG game you’ve playedas a character in a new place with limited knowledge and not much direction. You have to walk around and talk to people, figure out how to earn money and just survive from day to day. After all the time I’ve put in so far, my character has planted a small garden, mowed down a lot of weeds, chopped some trees and fished. MAG-NIFICENT?: A REVIEW OF MAG Here we go, we have another FPS to review. But this time there’s a catch. This time, we’ve also got an MMORPG, of sorts. Yup, talking about MAG this time, a First Person Shooter that’s big hook is the ability to play with 256 players at the same time. GREEN TOYS TEA SET: A TRADITION MADE EARTH-FRIENDLY I am a boy, yet I was never one to say no to a good old-fashioned sit-down tea party with the ladies. There are a few toys that I'll go so far as say, "These are required for young minds to grow and have fulfilled childhoods." That list goes as follows: Slinkies, MICROSOFT 2010 REVIEW Sony and Nintendo already had their moment in the spotlight; now it’s Microsoft’s turn to step forward and accept their yearly judgment. A lot, and I mean a LOT of great games were released for the Xbox 360 this year, but so was a lot of crap. Want to know what we thought was good and bad and what deserves an arbitrary score? A RETURN TO PICTIONARY (AS AN ADULT) Sometimes you're with your friends and you are posed with an option- do we play a game none of you heard of before- or do you go with an old classic? While in most cases we go for the ones we never knew about- a case of the giggles had us wanting insurance that we were going to have a good time. It was almost a REARVIEW SPY GLASSES, FOR THE SECRET AGENT IN ALL OF US I still vividly remember the first time I opened the door to the basement, peered down the steep wooden steps, and tenuously took my first steps toward what would become a quite lucrative business – and a lifelong obsession for me. Ok, lifelong is a bit of an overstatement when you consider that I am not even old SUPER CROSSFIGHTER CROSSES OVER TO IPAD Super Crossfire is one of my favorite games from the Xbox 360 Indie days. It is a wonderful arcade game that really grabs the spirit of what it means to shoot for a high score. The classic “easy to play, hard to master” type of gameactually, the first Crossfire title of XBLA is probably more difficult and a bit more rewarding, but I still play the “Super” version more. FORGET-ME-NOTS: TIE FIGHTER Released in 1994, “Tie Fighter” was the sequel to “Star Wars: X-Wing” and was the first Star Wars game that put you in the role of the Galactic Empire. They may have been bad, but the game was nothing short of awesome, and I submit it as the best flight simulator ever. The game put you in the day-to-day life of a faceless TIE pilot, who goes through training and simulations before CLASH ROYALE, JUST ANOTHER WAITING GAME Clash Royale is a tower defense-ish type of game where you’re trying to destroy your opponent’s castles. You do so by sending over your fighters but they’re also playing defense if need be, kind of like hockey. The play is easy to catch on to and understand. The graphics are solid and sticks to the style from Clash of Clans. EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH: QUIT BEFORE YOU'RE AHEAD There isn't too much to say about Employee of the Month (published by Dancing Eggplant Games, designed by Alan Moon). I just did not enjoy it whatsoever. This is odd for me, because usually I enjoy needing to study my opponents to keep up with their motives but, ugh. THE QUEST HAS BEGUN: PREVIEW OF TRUE QUEST Here at Toy-TMA, we're all about learning. We're also all about fun. And we're definitely all about mixing the two together. But sometimes it can be a challenge combining a game that people enjoy playing with a means to learn something since kids view education like rats viewpoison. I
BAR ARCADES: NOW I'M A BELIEVER I'm part of the last generation that got to experience arcades, and even then I caught the tail end of that period. Despite missing the heyday of arcades, the time I did spend in them are happy ones filled with wonder. And it seems ever since then I've wanted to see arcades make a comeback. I wrote about this several OFFENSIVE BOARD GAMES There are a lot of wholesome family oriented games in the market, and those are largely the ones we discuss here on TMA. However, I feel it would be a huge disservice to our party-loving, adult theme accepting readers not to point out some of the 'best' 5 GAMES THE INDUSTRY SHOULD MAKE MORE OF Last time on TMA Mondays, I gave a list of 5 Good Games that have had negative effects on the industry.Upon reflection, I realize that perhaps my points may have been wrapped up too briskly with very little context on where I was going with the article. WORD ON THE STREET: KEEPS YOU ON YOUR FEET! I’m not sure if I can say enough good things about this week’s board game. I’m a huge fan of word games, so I had pretty high hopes. I’m happy to say Word on the Street by Out of the Box Publishing – surpassed every possible expectation! It’s a simple, fast pace game that forces you to be on your feet (sometimes, literally!).
BRINGING CHEAPNESS BACK: MARVEL VS CAPCOM 2 REVIEW Marvel vs Capcom 2 is a nearly perfect game. I have a copy on the PS2 and it still gets pulled out every so often so that I can dust it off and play a few rounds with the cheapest characters I can assemble, such as Cable and Iron Man. Capcom seems to have a trend going at the moment where they like remaking some of HITMAN GO, A PUZZLE GAME WITH STYLE While I know of the Hitman game franchise, I've never played any of them. Nor have I seen the movie. All I know, well, all I assume is that the story is about a bald-headed hitman that goes around and kills people. I'm sure there are some deep plotlines and other creative characters but all I VVVVVV, I MUST BE MISSING SOMETHING I'm not the biggest platformer fan in the world but I can enjoy them if they're done rightproviding a good pace, fun action/puzzles and responsive controls. Just to give you context, the last platformer I remember enjoying was Shank on XBL Arcadealthough I'm currently playing the Strider remake and am enjoying 5 BOARD GAMES TO PLAY WITH FAMILY IN 2018 I did a little personal research because I have been in the Board Game Exchange bubble the past year. I have been relatively out of touch with what people are playing with their families, the "trending" games if you will - because I have become so accustomed to having a box of predetermined games show up on my doorstep FORGET-ME-NOTS: TIE FIGHTER Released in 1994, “Tie Fighter” was the sequel to “Star Wars: X-Wing” and was the first Star Wars game that put you in the role of the Galactic Empire.
I have been relatively out of touch with what people are playing with their families, the "trending" games if you will - because I have become so accustomed to having a box of predetermined games show up on my doorstepTrending
