Since the 1970s, Transportation Alternatives has been leading the movement for biking and walking in New York City. We have reclaimed acres of New York City from the legacy of Robert Moses, with the construction of over 1,000 miles of bike lanes and over 70 public plazas on New York City streets. We brought the first public bike share system, the first protected bike lanes, the first automated speed and red light enforcement cameras systems, and the first Vision Zero initiative to New York City, and the United States. You can find the 40+ year impact of Transportation Alternatives on streets across the Big Apple. But we are not done yet, and we need your help. Learn More Over 1000 miles of bike lanesĂ—
