It was built by Andre Bleriot, commissioned in 1913 and, in addition to providing an essential transport service, acted as a major social hub in the Drumheller Valley. MIDLAND PROVINCIAL PARK Palaeontology attraction: The Royal Tyrrell Museum is located in the located in Midland Provincial Park, just outside Drumheller. Midland Provincial Park is day use only. There are no camping facilities here. Hike the pathway through willows and cottonwoods along the river. There’s an interpretive display at the old Midland Coal Mine office (which operated from 1912 until 1959). ROAD TRIP IDEAS: CHECK OUT THESE DRUMHELLER SPOTS THAT A lot of Brokeback Mountain was filmed in the surrounding Drumheller area. If you drive to Rockyford, you can check out the main street and the rodeo grounds several scenes were shot on. Make your way to Dorothy, and you’ll be driving on the highway Jack did in the movie. The bridge was once used by miners but is now a favorite among locals for fishing and to access great Badlands terrain. Guided Ghost Walk Tour. Hear the ghostly tales of downtown Drumheller every Friday and Saturday night at the Ghost Walk Tour.
