Soaring above the surrounding rooftops, Truro Cathedral is located in the centre of this thriving Cornish city and wonderfully situated in the middle of the county of Cornwall. When the second lockdown was announced, the Cathedral Executive took the decision to introduce live streaming of Sunday worship with immediate effect. Although we have been given a generous gift to acquire live-streaming cameras, these have yet to be installed, and so we had to beg and borrow (but not steal!) equipment to allow this to happen from Sunday, 8th November.TRURO CATHEDRAL
Truro Cathedral Restaurant/Café is a hidden gem at the heart of Truro, providing local food to our visitors and enjoying a growing reputation as a place to eat in Truro city centre. Located in the Chapter House at the rear of the cathedral, the café is a lovely meeting place for friends who enjoy coffee and a chat, freshly madecakes and snacks.

The cathedral is a ring of twelve bells and is the only twelve bell tower in Cornwall. Originally ten bells were hung and dedicated on the21 June 1910.

Christine is well known in the Cathedral congregation and in the church in Cornwall as a remarkable Christian woman and a constant support to her husband Rodney, who was in turn Archdeacon of Bodmin and Archdeacon of Cornwall.TRURO CATHEDRAL
Truro Cathedral is a busy place regularly providing over 120 services, events, learning activities and tours each and every month. Our highly motivated and diverse staff team ensure our activities are successful, working together to help achieve the cathedral’s aims. One of my earliest memories is of sitting on the organ bench with my grandfather who was Organist of a large anglo-catholic church in Birmingham UK for over forty years. He was a rather well-known liturgical improviser and I remember being blown away by all the stops, the buttons and the sheer sound of the instrument especially the Pedal Trombone! Since at least 1259, the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin has been located in the centre of the busy port of Truro. It had been rebuilt twice, first in 1504 in the fashionable Perpendicular Gothic style, and then it was re-modelled in 1768, in a Georgian style with a39metre tall spire.
CATHEDRAL OPEN FOR GENERAL VISITING UNTIL 1:30PM Truro Cathedral is open and welcomes you for general visiting between the hours of 12:00 and 13:30. The cathedral will close earlier than normal today due to the Young Pilgrims Service happening within the Nave, we apologise for any inconvenience. Sing2G7! Truro Cathedral was transformed into a Covid-safe film set this Saturday, as 35 choristers, Sir Tim Rice and a volunteer professional film crew of created seven recorded a short film. One of my earliest memories is of sitting on the organ bench with my grandfather who was Organist of a large anglo-catholic church in Birmingham UK for over forty years. He was a rather well-known liturgical improviser and I remember being blown away by all the stops, the buttons and the sheer sound of the instrument especially the Pedal Trombone! Truro is only one of four cathedrals in the UK with three spires. The cathedral is vaulted throughout, its magnificent gothic arch drawing your eye up to the roof on entering the building.
