TSUBAKI GRAND SHRINE OF AMERICA Tsubaki America Shrine was established in 1986 in Stockton, CA by Rev. Dr. Yukitaka Yamamoto the 96th High Priest of Tsubaki Grand Shrine in Mie, Japan. Tsubaki America was the 1st Shrine to be built on North American soil. A series of Priests from Tsubaki Grand Shrine in Japan served at Tsubaki America, introducing the Jinja Shinto to the US. TSUBAKI GRAND SHRINE OF AMERICA Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America is the traditional Jinja Shinto Shrine located on a pristine 25 acre site near Granite Falls, Washington.OMAIRI/SHRINE VISIT
1) Move to Saisen Bako (offeratory box) and the Suzu (bell) rope. Straighten your mind/body/spirit and stand on center line. You may drop Saisen (monetary offering) into box. 2) Hold Suzu rope in both hands and swing the rope to ring the bell (please do not pull on the rope). 3) Look towards the Kagami (mirror) in front of the innerShrine
TSUBAKI GRAND SHRINE OF AMERICA Omamori are "yearly protective amulets" imbued with OKamisama's Fuku (Good Luck, protective power, blessings). Each Omamori represents a different kind of protection, and is additionally purified in the Heiden (Hall of Offerings) of the Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America before being packaged and shipped. TSUBAKI GRAND SHRINE OF AMERICA With the season finale comes Setsubun and the feeling of the beginning of Spring and the agricultural year. The ceremony begins at Tsubaki America Shrine with a ritual purification,offerings and prayers of gratitude to OKami led by the Shinto Priest. Then the Tsubaki America Negi will shoot 3 hama-ya (misfortune dispelling arrows) to purify the TSUBAKI GRAND SHRINE OF AMERICA The couple sits before the enshrined Kami in the presence of family and close friends. After ritual purification (Shyubatsu) prayers are offered by the priest that the couple will be blessed with good fortune, happiness and OKamisama's protection and guidance. Then 3x3 sips of purified Sake are served by the Miko-san to the weddingcouple.
