BIOGRAPHY Ji-Jon SIT has always been fascinated by feedback control and analog electronics. On writing this biography, he realized that his liberal arts education as a Yale Engineer could be credited for enabling his return to analog electronics for graduate studies despite doing his FYP on a digital microprocessor. At MIT he joined the Analog TUM ASIA – TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF MUNICH ASIA Germany is known as the Land of Ideas and the term “German Engineering” is associated with quality, excellence and technical greatness. Combine that with the context of Asia – China and India already making up one-third of the world’s consumer population – and the widespread embrace of technology among Asian consumers, our degree programmes offer students a competitive edge inDR. Dr. Lei Lei finished her Ph.D. at Technical University of Munich Germany with “ Summa cum laude ” (passed with the highest distinction) in April 2016. Since February 2018 She has started her habilitation at Technical University of Munich, Germany. Currently an official faculty member at chemistry department, TUM, PhD supervisor. PROF. DR. LUKAS HINTERMANN The research of Prof. Hintermann (b. 1972) focuses on the development of highly active and selective catalysts for organic synthesis. Such catalysts can be used both in basic molecular research and in industrial production. The aim is to achieve sustainable and efficient chemical synthesis to provide new materials using minimal ofresources.

BIOGRAPHY. Zhiping Lin received the B.Eng. degree in control engineering from South China Institute of Technology, Canton, China in 1982 and the Ph.D. degree in information engineering from the University of Cambridge, England in 1987. He was with the University of Calgary, Canada for 1987-1988, with Shantou University, China for 1988-1993, and with DSO National Laboratories, Singapore for PROF. DR. ANDREAS HERKERSDORF The aim, he says, is to not only equip students with theoretical knowledge, but equally as important is the ability to apply the knowledge. With this conviction, Professor Klein ensures that all Chemical Engineering students have the opportunity to complete real-time experiments on industrial-sized equipment in thelaboratories.

The Industrial PhD Programme (IPP) is a grant provided by Economic Development Board Singapore to companies to develop a pool of postgraduate manpower with critical R&D skillsets for roles in the respective industries. BIOGRAPHY Dr. Biba is currently working on his habilitation at the Institute of Physics at the University of the German Federal Armed Forces, Munich. He specializes in the areas of semiconductor technology, devices and security on chips.He studied electrical engineering at TUM and received his Dipl.-Ing. degree in 2008. During his studies, he worked for PROF. POENAR DANIEL PUIU BIOGRAPHY Poenar Daniel Puiu received the M.Sc. degree in electronics and telecommunications in 1989 from Polytechnic University, Bucharest, Romania. He received the Ph.D. degree from the Technical University Delft in 1996. He then joined the Institute of Microelectronics (IME) Singapore, as a Research Engineer until 1999. Since 2000 he has been an Assistant Professor with PROF. DR. GERHARD WACHUTKA BIOGRAPHY The research interests of Prof. Wachutka cover the basic physical principles of microstructured components and systems, in particular in the area of electronic components and microsensors and microactuators. He uses physics-based modeling and predictive computer simulation for “virtual prototyping”. The aspects investigated include the robustness and reliability of components PROF. DR. WOLFGANG UTSCHICK Dr. Utschick has been Principal Investigator in multiple research projects funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). He is a member of the VDE and senior member of the IEEE, where he currently serves as the Chair of the German Signal Processing Society.
