WHAT FACTORS SHOULD TEACHERS CONSIDER AS THEY PLAN All of the factors you mentioned are great things to keep in mind when planning instruction. I loved that you included Bloom’s taxonomy because I hadn’t thought of that at all. THE MCNAUGHTON RULES A few basic parts to the McNaughton Rule: There is a presumption, that the defendant is sane, and that they are responsible for their criminal acts. At the time of the crime, the defendant must have been suffering from a “disease of the mind.”. If the defendant knows the nature of the crime, do they know what they did was wrong. IDEALISM AND REALISM IN THE CLASSROOM Realism takes the position that reality is the material world that exists external to, not latent in, our mind. A realist also believes, in opposition to the idealist, that the best way to understand reality is through sensory perception, scientific investigation, and the construction of theories to fit our understanding of reality.
