2020 YET ANOTHER COMPARISON. FITEC VS. HOLLEY. WHAT IS THE 146 Posts. #19 · Mar 23, 2020. I went with the MSD Atomic EFI over the Holley. Basic logic was: I have an MSD distributor, ignition box, and MSD controller on my transmission. If I had a problem, I didn't want Holley to say it was an MSD problem or vice versa, even though MSD is a subsidiary of Holley. 428 COBRA JET TIMING The factory recomends 6 BTC. I have mine set at 11 initial with 36 all in but it comes in early at about 1900 rpms. LESSONS LEARNED FROM INSTALLING AN EDELBROCK PERFORMER 289 Well, I'm officially done the whole rigamarole. I discovered some goofy bits here and there and thought I would share. I decided to ditch my 302 2V stock intake since I was doing some camshaft work. "While I'm in there." took root. I was interested in some more CFM, better throttle response HOLLEY / QUICK FUEL IDLE AND TRANSFER SLOT ISSUE Pulling my hair out here. New 650 brawler, mechanical. I am trying to work out gremlins in this thing. New Motor: 302, Trick flow heads, Comp cam - Duration: 274°/282°, Hydraulic Roller, Weiand stealth intake. Timing: 18 initial, 38 all in. Motor builder had the carb set with 72 main jets in289 SPARK PLUG GAP?
Probably a dumb question, but I'm just getting started on a conv. project. What's the spark plug gap supposed to be for a '67 289 c-code auto.? I've got resto. books, but they don't give basic tune-up info.- only part numbers. Thanks for the assistance. CHANGING SPARK PLUG GAP AFTER INSTALLING PERTRONIX Widening the gap means the spark jumps further and thus ignites more fuel. Thus, it ignites the fuel faster. You should retard your spark advance a bit to make up for it. But the further it's gapped, the higher voltage spark is required. So past a certain point, the spark won't be strong enough to jump. 1965 MUSTANG TRANS AM BUILD BACKUP CAR Discussion Starter · #1 · 3 mo ago. I picked up and A code 1965 Mustang, this will become the backup car, car will be built identical to the first car, except will be for the street (unless we need it on the track). Lots of "fixing" to do as someone that botched this car trying to restore it. 1. 1966 289 ENGINE IDLE ADJUSTMENT When you first start it cold the engine should idle around 1200-1500 rpms. This is because the fast idle screw kicks over when the choke is closed. Once the choke opens and the engine warms up you can blip the throttle and fast idle screw moves out if the way. At fully warmed up a stock engine should idle around 750 rpm.FRONT TOO HIGH
67 mustang coupe: i replaced my front suspension recently. springs and upper control arms. i stuck with stock size springs, they were the same height as the old ones because the front height was the way it should be. i compared the two to make sure and they were the same size. now installed, the front of the car is way too high. at least an 1967 MUSTANG/SHELBY PARTS FOR SALE I have the following 67 Mustang/ Shelby parts for sale: (4) very nice used Mustang OEM Ford Steel rims 14 X 5.5 - these were removed many years ago from my 67 GTA Mustang. No hubcaps included $300 for the set. BF32 Autolite Plugs $80 for a set of DOOR LOCK KEY WONT TURN My drivers side door lock wont turn when the key is in, so I have to lock and unlock it from the inside. I opened the door panel to check if something inside broke loose but it all looks fine. It appears to be the cylinder. So before I go replacing the the cylinder and key,does anyone have
1967 MUSTANG FUEL PROBLEM Disconect the fuel line from the tank at the fuel pump inlet. Install the rubber line to the fuel pump and the plastic bottle. Put just enough gas in the jug to run an up hill test. Secure the jug good. Temporarily cap the fuel line from the tank. This will tell U if there is a fuel line issue. BENEFITS OF 160 DEG. My `66 FB is a factory built GT & has the correct features which have been discussed already. Since I always have my seat bottom out of the car I show my dual exhaust support brackets to people at car shows often. WHAT WEIGHT OIL SHOULD I USE IN MY 351C'S i use Mobil 1 10W30 full synthetic in both of my 351C. a guy at work told me i should be running at least 40w motor oil. what do you guys recommend? i live in NY and the temp in the summer is from 70-90 usually. my 1970 mach's 351C has never been rebuilt. my 69 mach's 351has been. TIA

These 190cc heads are on Summit for $1010 for a pair. Normally I would have classed them with the ProMaxx, E-Street and Flotek heads, which all have their issues, but the reviews on them are surprisingly positive. These heads are also used on the BluePrint 306 & 347s that seem to make good HPreliably.

Bigger tires need more shock. For your I6 67, the Kayaba GR2 (Excel-G) would likely be a better choice, as you are looking for ride quality and probably don't have huge tires. You should still go with the Arning Drop, and an export brace. They will make the ride (and handling) even better, at little cost.GROUND LOCATIONS
I am having starting issues. I initially thought it was an overheating issue, carb heatsoak or starter heatsoak issue. I have done the following to tackle the issue but it still remains: - Replaced the (already leaking) radiator - Replaced thermostat with 180 degree thermostat - Added a shroud - 289 HIPO IDENTIFICATION The casting code is C5AE-6015-E and is from 1966 with a 6 bolt bellhousing Click to expand Yes, that casting code applies to the hi-po (K-code) 289 engine. But that doesn't definitely identify YOUR engine as a K-code. That's because the same casting code also applies to the A-code, C-code, and D-code 289 engines. More info: 1968 289 TIMING SPECS? If your car is automatic, idle speed needs to be set w/the car in drive. Idle speed is 800 rpm. If standard, put the car in neutral w/headlights on, same idle speed. If you are sticking w/points, timing is 6° BTC and plug gap is 0.030"-0.035", if you have upgraded to Pertronix then 10°-12° BTC and gap your plugs to 0.040". That shouldcover it.

I have a 1966 convertible and I want to add an original 1965 rally pac. The rally pac I have has all of the connectors removed and I see they sell a repair kit for 1965 early and 1965 late. Which one do I need to purchase? Not sure if the wiring date is tied to the CAR orthe RALLY PAC.

Initial impression- I really like the Dynomax mufflers. Gives a nice deep tone, and hardly any resonance. There is a slight resonance at 1000-1100 rpm, but I am rarely in that range forany sustained

HELLO FROM MICHIGAN 1970 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE Hello, my name is Dan I’m from Mason Michigan. I just bought my first Mustang, it’s a 1970 convertible with 351w automatic 3 speed trans. 2 barrel auto lite carb. I’m having a couple issues with it running warm. First I noticed when the car is warm it doesn’t like sitting at stop signs or 1965 MUSTANG TRANS AM BUILD A forum community dedicated to vintage Ford Mustang owners and enthusiasts. FLOWMASTER TO DYNOMAX Just changed out my Flowmaster 50 series 3 chamber mufflers to Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers. Initial impression- I really like the Dynomax mufflers. Gives a nice deep tone, and hardly any resonance. There is a slight resonance at 1000-1100 rpm, but I am rarely in that range forany sustained
GROUND LOCATIONS
I am having starting issues. I initially thought it was an overheating issue, carb heatsoak or starter heatsoak issue. I have done the following to tackle the issue but it still remains: - Replaced the (already leaking) radiator - Replaced thermostat with 180 degree thermostat - Added a shroud -1970 COYOTE SWAP

I did some background research and I am still trying to figure out if I have a hipo block. I know the heads are not because they are stamped withBEST SHOCKS ?

BEST $200 MOD EVER (EPS). Mod and Custom Forum Just did a more extensive test drive with the home-brew EPS from a Vue in a 66 Mustang. Results are fantastic! I will post more details soon.
