With over 90 panels and 1,500 figures, Parowan Gap is believed to be one of the most concentrated collections of petroglyphs in the West – and one of the most accessible. ABOUT THE PAROWAN GAP. KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: TIPS FOR HIKING KANARRA FALLS Know your escape routes, be aware of rising water levels, stronger currents, and sudden changes in water clarity. By entering a narrow canyon or wash, you are assuming a risk. Do not hike this trail if it is raining or if there is a threat of heavy rain. #3 KANARRA FALLS VERY HAS LIMITED FACILITIES.LANDSLIDE FESTIVAL

WHERE TO GO & WHAT TO DO IN DIXIE NATIONAL FOREST July 13th – July 19th is National Forest Week and all the excuse we need to celebrate our favorite backyard getaway, Dixie National Forest! With nearly 2 million acres throughout southern Utah, Dixie National Forest is home to many of the scenic wonders THE SECRETS OF PAROWAN GAP Parowan Gap has two distinct connotations, one natural, one man-made. The three-mile long pass near Parowan is a classic example of a wind gap – an unusual geological landform marking where an ancient river has cut a 600-foot deep notch through the Red Hills. 5 THINGS TO DO AT NAVAJO LAKE 5 Things to do at Navajo Lake. Recreate among the lava beds and swim among the clouds at Navajo Lake, Dixie National Forest. The Navajo Lake recreation area is located atop Cedar Mountain (approximately 25 miles east of Cedar City). This pristine lake was originally known to the Paiutes as “Pa-Cu-Ay”, meaning “Cloud Lake”. DOG-FRIENDLY OPTIONS IN AND AROUND CEDAR CITY Dog-Friendly – Leash Required. Trailhead: Located about 0.8 mile south of the town of Kanarraville, just south of Cedar City. At 400 South Main St, Kanarraville, take the route that heads southeast toward the cliffs. Follow it for about 0.82 miles to the parking area and trailhead. NOTE: Water in the creek varies. 5 THINGS TO DO AT NAVAJO LAKE 5 Things to do at Navajo Lake. Recreate among the lava beds and swim among the clouds at Navajo Lake, Dixie National Forest. The Navajo Lake recreation area is located atop Cedar Mountain (approximately 25 miles east of Cedar City). This pristine lake was originally known to the Paiutes as “Pa-Cu-Ay”, meaning “Cloud Lake”.EAST BENCH TRAIL
In 1958, the Green’s Lake Watershed Project was built; a series of three basins to catch floodwater you see along the foothills of the East Bench Trail. They were built just in time as a major thunderstorm hit on August 17th that same year. Cedar City’s streets became virtual rivers but over 160 feet of floodwater was diverted to thebasins.
A LOOK AT THE CEDAR CITY MOUNTAIN BIKING SCENE On the biggest trek in Brian Head, Dark Hollow, you’ll drop more than 5,000 feet in 14.5 miles and go through lush forests till you hit red rock.
