Freeing the Grid is an annual report card from Vote Solar and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) that rates all 50 states on two key clean energy policies: net metering and interconnection standards. Together, these policies empower energy customers to produce their own power from rooftop solar and other distributedrenewables.

Regulatory Director, Southeast Odette advances solar priorities in the energy regulatory space of the Southeastern US, including in Florida, the Carolinas, and Virginia. Prior to Vote Solar, Odette served as the community solar and low-income solar access lead at the US Department of Energy’s SunShot Initiative, and led renewable energy and clean transportation programs at MICHIGAN - VOTE SOLAR DTE is the campaign for health, affordability, and democracy in Detroit and throughout southeast Michigan led by frontline communities.
