FAQ: DEALER MODE & FI ERROR CODES The dealer mode connector on 2012 and newer DL650s is the white one in this picture. It's under the left side cover behind the seat latch.Remove the
DIAGNOSTIC (OR DEALER) MODE. WHAT IS THIS? The ABS (not engine) dealer mode connector is in the rear where the normal connector is on other Stroms. Dealer mode is entered by placing a jumper on two of the wires in this plug. The 02-03 DL1000 has a 4 pin plug with only two wires. The 04 & up DL1000 & all DL650 have a 6 pin plug with four wires. In all cases, the White/Red & Black/WhiteENGINE VIBRATION
Slightest out of balance or disturbance as they run up to 4,000 rpm makes them vibrate. You may need levers between gear rim and top plate to find this play which is the basket loose on the hub. Thanks. There are many ways to solve buffeting. The trick is finding the one that works for you. The road I took was to cut 2" off the top of the screen, drilled two more holes and dropped it another 1 1/2" and cut 1 1/2" off the bottom and put washers under EXTERNAL FUEL FILTER MODIFICATION Now reassemble everything and do the external tank stuff. FIT NEW FILTER. Basically the shorter the new fuel lines are the better it is, hence, the filter position as per the photo below. This is due to the volume to be pressurised is increased by an extra filter. HOW DO I ADJUST MY THROTTLE BODIES? DL650 2004-2006 only. DIAGNOSTIC (OR DEALER) MODE. WHAT IS THIS? The ABS (not engine) dealer mode connector is in the rear where the normal connector is on other Stroms. Dealer mode is entered by placing a jumper on two of the wires in this plug. The 02-03 DL1000 has a 4 pin plug with only two wires. The 04 & up DL1000 & all DL650 have a 6 pin plug with four wires. RICK'S FORK BRACE (ADVENTURE TECH) The brace comes with both halves bolted together with four bolts, two 35mm and two 25mm. Remove the bolts and separate the front and back halves. Place the front piece of the brace (the larger piece) in place by sliding it down over the fork tubes. The brace should be level with the metal top of the tube. CHECKING TPS QUESTION 1) Valve Adjust (an intake on # 1 cylinder was .003-.004" (edge of spec.). The road I took was to cut 2" off the top of the screen, drilled two more holes and dropped it another 1 1/2" and cut 1 1/2" off the bottom and put washers under DL650 THROUGH THE YEARS! DL650 Through the Years! I can't remember when you weren't there. When I didn't care for anyone but you. I swear we've been through everything there is. Can't imagine anything we've missed. Can't imagine anything the two of us can't do. Through the years, you'venever let me down.
DL1000 VS. FJR1300 COMPARISON V-Strom 1000 vs FJR 1300. Here is yet another $0.02 worth (more than you’re paying for it so don’t complain) comparing the DL-1000 and the FJR1300. These are my personal comments from my experience of owning two DL-1000’s (02&04) and an 04FJR. These are MY subjectiveopinions only.

This procedure will get it close, within 1/2" of mercury. Of course the SDS (dealer diagnostic system) is the best way to do it correctly. DL1000 - The EXTERNAL FUEL FILTER MODIFICATION Now reassemble everything and do the external tank stuff. FIT NEW FILTER. Basically the shorter the new fuel lines are the better it is, hence, the filter position as per the photo below. This is due to the volume to be pressurised is increased by an extra filter.
