Henri Cartier-Bresson's photographs of the last days of the Chinese Civil War were exhibited at Taipei Fine Arts Museum in late 2020. Last year marked the hundredth anniversary of the birth of Paul Celan, often called the greatest of postwar European poets, and the fiftieth of his death. Perhaps for that reason, 2020 also saw some important English-language publications on Celan: The Luxembourg-born American poet Pierre Joris capped a lifelong project CAROLEE SCHNEEMANN: DOUBLE KNOWLEDGE In communicating with Carolee Schneemann in the last months of her life there was a sense that the artist was in a race against time. In his 2011 work "Pigs in the Yard", 'Uhila challenged western notions and treatment of the pig. In traditional Tongan culture the pig is sacred.
