DIY HANGING SHELVES
Fold the two pieces in half, and place the folded end underneath the metal ring. Pull the folded end over the metal ring, then pull the rest of the cord up and through the loop. Pull the cord taut to create the knot around the metal ring. Separate two of the strands. Pull each strand through one of the drill holes. Repeat on the other side. DIY HANGING MACRAME PLANTER Materials. Cut 8 pieces of rope 72 inches in length. Fold one piece of rope in half and place the looped end over and then under the wooden dowel. Pull the ends down and through the loop. Pull the ends tight to create a lark head’s knot. Repeat until you knotted all 8 pieces tothe dowel.
DIY WOODEN DOWEL SIDE TABLE Measure and mark the center point on each 1/2″ dowel. From the center point, measure 1/4″ on either side so you have a total measurement of 1/2″. Saw each mark a little less than a 1/4″ into the dowel. Use a chisel to carefully chip away the area between the two saw marks to create a notch in the dowel. Sand the notches untilthey are
DIY HANGING LEATHER RACK Punch a hole at one end of the leather. Line up the edges of the pieces of leather and punch your second hole through the first so they line up. Add your metal ring between the two pieces of leather making sure the holes are still aligned. Add your rivet and hammer it to secure. Now, let’s go down to the opposite end of the leather piece. METALLIC KITCHENS: YAY OR NAY? The home’s owner, Alex McCabe, wasn’t afraid to mix all three. This kitchen utilizes a brass backsplash and pairs it with a mauve accent wall in an open-concept space. In addition to a gold backsplash, a gold shelf provides open shelving to display items in Jenna Lyons’ kitchen. If you can’t decide between two shades, thisspace shows
DIY DOWEL BED BENCH
Using a 1/4″ drill bit, drill a hole about 1/2″ into the dowel. Add a drop of wood glue, and insert a dowel pin into the hole. Connect the four dowel pieces together. For the legs, the holes that sit 1 1/2″ from one end will serve as the top of the bench and willconnect to the
WHY DON'T YOU MAKE ME? Recipe for One: Buttermilk Biscuits. Living alone has a lot of perks, like watching whatever you want on TV or no one judging how many buttermilk biscuits you ate in one sitting. Solitary living also has some downsides, like no one being around to stop you from eating too many biscuits. In all seriousness, I DIY WEAVING LOOM WITH HEDDLE BAR Next you’re going to cut the ends so the heddle bar can easily rotate along the sides of the loom. On either side, measure the center point of three sides of the dowel. The top will be the side of the dowel that has no cuts. Connect the three points to create a little house shape. Again, the top point should line up with the side thathas no
DIY TASSELS
Fold the outer threads towards the middle to cover the smaller, cut threads. Cut a 12″ piece of gold thread. Tie the gold thread around the tassel. Wrap it around multiple times, and tie it off. Cut off any excess thread. Trim the end of the tassel to make it more even. 5. Add a jump ring to the center thread. RECIPE FOR ONE: BUTTERMILK BISCUITS Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and sugar in a bowl. Cut butter into small pieces. Add butter to flour mixture. If using a food processor, pulse the butter and flour mixture until you have pea-sized crumbs, or use a pastrycutter.

DIYS TO TRY
Happy Friday, friends! Don’t know about you but spring fever is in full effect at my house. I live with three dogs and we find ourselves playing outside more and more these days. This is the first time I’ve ever lived with dogs and I honestly don’t remember what life was like without them. I’m hoping Continue reading "DIYs to Try" METALLIC KITCHENS: YAY OR NAY? DIY EMBROIDERED NECKLACE 5. Repeat steps 2 & 3 for the second color. 6. Continue to follow your pattern to complete the embroidered design. 7. Figure out how long you want your necklace. I made mine 22 inches so I could slip it over my head. Cut your chain to the desired length. Attach jump rings onDOUGHNUT CAKE
Ice the top of one of the tiers, then stack the second tier on top. 2. Use a swiss buttercream to crumb coat the outside of the cake. Refrigerate the cake for a minimum of 30 minutes. We want a nice cold cake for sculpting. 3. To begin sculpting the rounded doughnut shape, trim the top edge of the cake at an angle. DIY WIRE NAME BRACELET Write out your name in cursive. 2. Diagram the direction the wire will travel using arrows. This will make forming the name a lot easier. Some letters will require “back-tracking” aka two layers of wire. 3. Form the loop in your wire. It should only be about a 1/4″ in diameter. Curve the wire to begin to form the bracelet.COLOMBIAN AREPAS
Add 3 cups of water to the meal and cheese mixture. 3. Melt the butter and add to the mixture. 4. Place 1 cup of warm water in a small bowl and use it to dissolve the salt. Add salt water to dough. 5. Mix dough with a wooden spoon to combine all of the ingredients. Slowly add the remaining water while continuing to mix the dough.DIY CLAY EARRINGS
Roll out the clay and position the cookie cutters so each piece has two colors. To marble*, roll out two or three colors and combine them into one. Roll out clay with a rolling pin. If you want to make different shapes, cut out a template using card stock. Place the template on top of the clay, and use an x-acto knife to cut out theshape.

RECIPE FOR ONE: BUTTERMILK BISCUITS01.29.20
Living alone has a lot of perks, like watching whatever you want on TV or no one judging how many buttermilk biscuits you ate in one sitting. Solitary living also has some downsides, like no one being around to stop you from eating too many biscuits. In all seriousness, I love to bake! Some of you might know that I even went to pastry school. But, it’s hard to bake treats when no one else will be around to help you eat them, which inevitably means I feel obligated to finish them myself. Seeing as how I have no self control, I thought I’d start a new blog series: Recipes for One! I’ll scale down some of my favorite recipes like when I’m craving biscuits, but don’t want to have to finish an entire tray of them.Read More →

METALLIC KITCHENS: YAY OR NAY?01.06.20
In an attempt to spend less time on Instagram, I find myself browsing Pinterest way more than usual. (Isn’t it funny how we trade one vice for another?) During my guilt-filled scrolling, images of metallic kitchens kept popping up over and over again. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF ADDING METALLIC ACCENTS IN YOUR KITCHEN? Honestly, I was a little hesitant at first of such a bold decorating move, but after looking through some of these images I’ve comearound to the idea.
I particularly love the look of brushed metallic lower cabinets paired with soft pink upper cabinets pictured above.
Throw in some green marbled countertops (something I never thought I’d say) and I’m sold.Read More →

SWEET DREAMS ARE MADE OF HALF MOON HEADBOARDS10.07.19
Earlier this year, I made a DIY headboard (you can see it in thesephotos ) for my
apartment using just plywood, foam, and polyester batting. It completely transformed my studio and made my “bedroom” area look so much more put together and grown up. In typical blogger fashion, I’m already looking to change up the look of the headboard by using a lighter and more neutral-colored fabric. While I was doing research for color schemes, I came across the top image of a half-moon headboard. I’m so in love with the unique, statement making shape. Plus, it’s also easily DIY-able. I trolled the internet for more arched headboards and was not disappointed by the results. Click through to see the rest! I particularly like the idea of a painted semi-circle headboard over your regular headboard, since you’d get the best of both worlds, and could easily paint over it again!Read More →
