GOLDEN RULES IF YOU FIND A FAWN The charity’s advice is as follows: If you find a deer fawn, please follow these 3 simple rules: 1. DO NOT TOUCH IT. Unless it’s in immediate danger, such as in the middle of the road, don’t touch it. A mother deer will reject her young if she picks up the human scent.2.

If it is not breeding season, one option is to install a one-way flap at the hole, so they can get out, but not return. This must not be done if there are babies present.

BIRDS OF PREY
Carefully pick up the bird, being careful to avoid the talons. The easiest and safest way to do this is by wrapping a towel around the body. Place it in a dark, ventilated box and keep it quiet for at least 1 hour. After 1 hour check on the bird. If it seems to be improved try opening the box in your garden.
