BEAR MOUNTAIN TRAIL
Bear Mountain is the hardest trail promoted by all the tourist brochures in Harrison Hot Springs. The trail relentlessly climbs up an old logging road with the occasional view of a waterfall or lake. The only real payoff is if you can make it all the way to the summit where there are big views of the Fraser Valley and the mountains to thesouth.
MOUNT GARIBALDI
Garibaldi is the most northern volcano on most climbers hit list that live in the Pacific Northwest. Its about a 2 hour drive north in Canada from the Washington State Border crossing. FISH LAKE LOOKOUT SITE Fish Lake Lookout was unique being built near the valley floor. It was built in 1934, a 40 foot pole tower with L-4 cab. The tower wasdestroyed in 1948.

Veyo Volcano. Distance: 1 mile. Elevation Gain: 600 feet. Summit Elevation: 5,239 feet. Access: Level 1. The Veyo Volcano is just south of Veyo which is easily reached by taking Highway 18 north out of St. George. The boardwalk bridge in Beards Hollow puts you right in the middle of a freshwater wetland. This site is a great bird-watching location, from tiny hummingbirds to the broad-wingedBald Eagle.

If you want to visit all four corners of Washington, Salmo would be the TOP SITE to visit in the northeast corner of Washington. HOLE-IN-THE-ROCK ROAD The road to Hole-in-the-Rock has a reputation. Although it isn t a difficult road to travel, the road is a long way to go on gravel, dirt, wash basins, tanks, and slickrock. SUGARLOAF PEAK LOOKOUT Sugarloaf Peak Lookout - Entiat Range. Sugarloaf was first established for fire detection in 1914 when a heliograph station was placed on the summit. This first station was just a camp. In 1924, the tall rock pillar on which the firefinder previously had been mounted was blasted away to make room for aBETHEL RIDGE ROAD

BEARHEAD MOUNTAIN
Bearhead Mountain is a great hike that is often overlooked in most of the hiking books. The summit provides excellent views over the Clearwater Wilderness and Mt. Rainier. JOHNNY GEORGE LOOKOUT Although you can drive to it, the area around Johnny George feels as remote as any backcountry in Washington. Much of the access route is within the Sand Hills Wildlife Area, with signs along the way explaining the habitat. HAMILTON BUTTES TRAIL Located deep in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Hamilton Buttes is a former lookout site with incredible views of the region. Visited more by motorcycles these days than hikers, Hamilton Buttes awaits the unsuspecting hiker with views of 4 volcanoes, Adams, Rainier, St.Helens and Hood.
RAINIER VIEW PARK
Rainier View Park in Sumner does have a good view of Mt. Rainier, possibly because the park is so new, the trees have not grown to blockthe mountain yet.
DAMON POINT HIKE
Hiking the beaches of Ocean Shores is boring, all Washingtonians admit this. The answer to a walk on the beach when visiting Ocean Shores is to do a hike on Damon Point to Protection Island. The last weekend in September, the Cascades got slammed by a massive snow storm during the week. We made it to the lake in winter conditions. Ironically, the snow melted shortly after and did not comeback for 3 months.
Finally the easy access road was repaired to access Sunrise, Jumbo and Juniper Peaks, the highlights of the Dark Divide Wilderness Area. Back for a second time, this one would have no snow, making for mucheasier travel.
Not easy to reach due to road washouts, the access via Laingille Ridge was recently repaired. Kyler and I spend a few days visiting former lookout sites.McCoy Peak

A prominent peak on the ridge. A likely patrol point of Sunrise Peak. So my weather was not great but this lookout site is known for some exceptional views overlooking the Columbia River Gorge. It was perched on top of a high rock making it one of the more exposed lookouts inWashington State.

Grayback Mountain is a unique mountain that feels more like central California than Washington State. Open spaces and oak trees areabundant.

This is a beautiful park filled with the amazimg Baobab tree and mixed Acacia woodlands. Game includes zebras, elephants, giraffes, lions and waterbuck. Tarangire National Park Lake Manyara is famous for the elephant population and the tree-climbing lions. The park is also famous for the birdlife, with almost 400 different species. The national park is home to the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world. Lake Manyara National Park Ngorongoro holds the largest un-flooded and unbroken caldera in the world. The crater is 12 miles across, 2,000 feet deep and 116 square miles in area. The crater is packed full of wildlife including elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, lions, leopards, hyenas, serval cats, jackals, bush backs, elands, water bucks, wildebeest, many antelope, and a large variety of birds. Ngorongoro Conservation Area We started the year 2020 with a bang, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa. If you have 28 minutes, watch the video and give ita like.
