This week’s Throwback Thursday Pic is a street scene of downtown Windsor. This picture was taken sometime in 1948 showing the northwest corner of Ouellette Avenue at London Street (London Street was renamed University Avenue on 1 November 1957). The Imperial Bank of Canada branch is located right at the corner, next is the Avenue Men’s Shop, moving up the street is the F. W. Woolworth Department Store, and at the end of the block is the S. This week’s Throwback Thursday Pic is another street scene from East Windsor (Ford City). The photograph was taken on a rainy day looking north along the east side of Drouillard Road at Charles Street. In this view there is Dubensky’s dry goods store, Windsor Bargain House and located at the far end of the block is Harry’s Place. While we’re all cooped up at home during these challenging times, Easter has snuck up on us. Those who celebrate, may need to adjust the celebration to fit the current Health Unit guidelines, but there’s no reason to forego celebrating Easter.
