MAKITA 2020 8" JOINTER??? Hi, a question for those in the know out there. I bought a Makita 8" jointer last week. It's the model 2020 and is about 30 years old. I think it is likely more a function of length whether they deflect or not. On the 1" pins I figure on about 1 in 5 deflecting in plywood. I haven't, however, tested equal lengths of different brands which would beneeded to

MAKITA 2020 8" JOINTER??? Hi, a question for those in the know out there. I bought a Makita 8" jointer last week. It's the model 2020 and is about 30 years old. What is a good price for a used Rigid TP1300 planer? I know of one where they are asking $549. I think that's way overpriced for a 2 blade planer. Am I missing something that makes it more valuable? I could get the Dewalt DW735 3 blade, dual speed planer new for just atiny bit more.

The problem is most, if not all, of those bits are relatively short and your 3/4" base is the issue. Kind of like mounting your router directly to the table top instead of using a mounting plate. I'd suggest you rethink the sled and maybe use the approach in the picture, ie suspending the router.OLD DELTA SCROLL
There should be a serial number on the delta tag on the top arm, or possibly on the table tilt badge. Looks like the SN tag should be on the right side, towards the back of the machine. It looks to be a 1440. The badges and stand put it right around 1941 (looks like awelded stand).
WHAT TO USE TO BRING OUT THE GRAIN IN WOOD Steve Neul. All you really need to bring out the grain is a natural stain or linseed oil. Both of which are incompatible with water based finishes if that is what you intend to use. Depending on the temperature and humidity it might take three days to a week for the oil to cure enough to topcoat. ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT DRAGONWOOD? AndrewJayden. ·. Registered. PLASTIC LATTICE EXPANSION PROBLEM So I was thinking about centering the plastic lattice inside the frame with a couple of screws in the center to keep it centered and still allow for expansion. I’ll need two screws so that the lattice will not rotate and I’m concerned that the expansion might be too much for the screws when the surface temperature from the sun goes over130˚F.
220 V VS 110V MOTOR PERFORMANCE However the percentage of voltage loss will be about 1/4 that of the 110 volt circuit. Further complicating the issue is that if a new circuit was installed, a larger wire size was probably used. (That is the norm for 220 volt circuits in this country.) This further improves the performance of the table saw. STAIN OVER LINSEED OIL Linseed oil will seal the wood so if someone is trying to stain dark they will have a problem.
