WOLVES TALK ABOUT THEIR TIME AT WOUELLEN MOORE ’20
“My favorite thing about WOU is the small class sizes! It’s no secret that smaller class sizes allow you to get to know your peers and professors better, but it also does a really good job of making me feel comfortable and even excited to go to class!”JD QUERA ’20
“I chose Western Oregon University because it has one of the top education programs in the nation. My time here has been justincredible.”
KAIANA BRADLEY ’20 “My favorite thing about WOU is the community atmosphere. I love it here because I came not knowing anyone and now I hardly ever walk across campus without saying hello to multiple people. Because of the size, it is really easy to get involved in whatever interests you and to truly make it feel like home here.” FIND THE RIGHT EVENTS FOR YOU AT WOUSee Campus Events

Camryn Skari will be graduating with a Masters in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. In addition to being a graduate student, Camryn has worked with the WOU Foundation Phonathon team for the past three years, and has been the lead caller for two years. ⠀⠀
When asked what she will miss most about WOU, Camryn said, "I think I will miss the familiarity the most. WOU is so small it always felt like home. When I first came here it was a little overwhelming, but once I learned the ins and outs it became whatever I wanted it to be. Professors or students may walk the same way after class, and those faces of strangers became friends, and then professional colleagues. You never felt lost or alone, as there was always something familiar about the town and the people."⠀⠀

We're excited to highlight class of 2020 graduates over the next month. We're starting with Adrian Luis Manriquez, from Keizer, who is graduating with a psychology degree.⠀⠀
Adrian advises students to "Believe in yourself! Set a goal and strive with all of your energy to make it happen. You can do it. Life is too short to not become all that you can be and to not do all that you were created to do."⠀⠀

Maddie Hannah will be graduating from WOU’s Master of Arts in Teaching program. Originally from Rome, Georgia, she previously graduated from WOU with a major in Humanities and a minor in Linguistics, and has worked as a graduate assistant for the WritingCenter.⠀
⠀
"While in my undergrad, I got the chance to see how excellent the education program at WOU is. When I decided to become a teacher, WOU was the logical place for me to come to get my graduate degree and license. I already had a wonderful community of friends, professors, and coworkers on campus, and Monmouth had become my home by that point. I was also offered an amazing GA position that would allow me to keep working at the Writing Center while attending. How could I sayno?"⠀

Heidi Benham is one of our 2020 graduates. She's graduating with a degree in Mathematics and a minor in Linguistics.⠀⠀
"What I most love about mathematics is that it is fairly objective compared to other disciplines, and yet there is still room for creativity; it is a perfect balance. What I love about linguistics is that it forces one to think of the incredible complexity of language, which is something we use every day, often without muchthought."⠀

Kailee Goodrich is graduating next month with two bachelor's degrees: one in American Sign Language Studies and one in ASL/English Interpretation. ⠀⠀
"One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned throughout my time at WOU is growth is never comfortable. Any kind of growth--self, professional, personal (the list could go on)--isn’t supposed to be comfortable. It is often difficult and emotional, but it is worth it! Reflecting on my time at WOU, the moments that I cried, struggled, and persevered are the times that made me the person I am today."⠀⠀

Meet Sean Tellvik - a senior who graduate with a bachelor's in English and a minor in Humanities. ⠀⠀
Sean chose WOU because, "I wanted to stay in Oregon for college, and I liked the overall size of classes and atmosphere of campus. Since I came to study writing and literature, I knew it would be better to have smaller classes for engaging discussion. Having more opportunities to get to know professors and classmates has helped create engaging, insightful classes I’ll never forget.⠀⠀
